Review of "L'Oreal Paris True Match Foundation"
OH MY GOD! Matt Cardle is now following me on Twitter! Watch this space ;)
Over the years I have tried so many liquid foundations as it is something that I wear pretty much every day. I tend to have a look in Boots and see what I can see on offer and if nothing is on offer I will pick up one I know I am happy with. I picked up the l'oreal true match liquid foundation when it was on offer in Boots quite a while ago now and from memory it cost me around £7 on offer but you can pick it up for around £8.50 at full price. The l'oreal true match liquid foundation comes in a pretty standard looking glass bottle which contains 30ml of foundation. You can buy the foundation in twelve different shades but when I went to Boots there was much less than that to choose from! The shade I ended up with was golden beige which in all honesty is slightly dark for my skin which is why I still have some of the bottle left after so many months! If you can find a stockist with lots of the colours in I would say that there is a very good chance you will be able to get a good match for your skin.
The idea of the true match foundation is that it uses ultra fine pigments to match your skin tone perfectly meaning that you are left with no tide marks and a flawless looking complexion. I have found that most of these claims do seem to be true, but it takes some serious blending on my behalf with having a darker shade than I actually need. The foundation dispenses through a pump like so many liquid foundations do. The consistency is really good in my opinion as some I have tried are really runny and literally run off your fingers as you are trying to apply! I find that I only need a couple of pumps of the foundation to apply it to my whole face which I think is around average in my opinion. I do apply with my fingers though and so if you were using a brush I would imagine you would need more than that. The foundation rubs well on to the skin and does provide good coverage and does well at hiding any blemishes or imperfections on the skin initially. When I rub this foundation into my skin I find that it has a more matt feel than other foundations I have used which often leave my skin with a sheen which requires a powder topping to finish the look. The fact that the foundation leaves a matt finish though isn't all that good for me, as it also makes my skin feel slightly dry as well which obviously isn't a good thing.
The foundation does last pretty well throughout the course of the day and I do not reapply it when I am at work unless I have a cold or something and have rubbed half of it off with a tissue! It is also easily removed at the end of the day with a wipe or which ever method of removal you would choose to use.I find it difficult to recommend this foundation because of the fact that is does seem to dry my skin out and for me there are much better alternatives out there for a similar, sometimes cheaper price. For that reason I can only really award the foundation three stars as it does have good coverage and lasts well but it is just not for me.
