When it comes to my hair, I may have mentioned on this site before that I really do suffer with trying to control it. I am not one of those people that can wear their hair naturally; I have to style it into some sort of a curl or get to work with my GHD’s! A couple of months ago, just before Christmas I made a big decision to get all my long hair chopped off and have it styled into a short bob. It may sound silly but having had long hair for some time I really did think this over for some time, no having had the shorter hair for those couple of months I can now say that it is the best decision I ever made, it is so much easier to style and takes half the time that it used to! Part of the problem was that I was using the wrong products and techniques for my hair and now with the help of my tried and tested mousse I can now wear my hair in loose waves as opposed to having a frizzy mess on my hands!
I was recommended the L’Oreal tecni art Volume moose by my hairdresser. I have used mousse products in the past but always ended up with half of it over the carpet and a large chunk stuck in just one section of my hair, however after
my hairdresser showing me the best way to apply It for my new shorter style I felt a lot more confident with it! The L’Oreal Tecni brand is not so readily available in the high street stores as some of its ranges and in my small town other than buying form my hairdresser it is almost impossible to get hold of. I paid £8.99 for the bottle of 250ml and although I thought that this was a little expensive at the time I can now see why you pay a little extra to that of the other ranges of mousse. I have found that the L’Oreal range is probably better of brought on the internet, sites such as Amazon or specialist hair sites like HQhair or hairproducts are likely to stock the mousse for a smaller price, I have seen it for £6.99 so that is a little more competitive.
The mousse does have a professional look to it; the packaging is all in black and white and has a minimalistic look to it. The bottle is tall and sleek and easy to grip hold of when you are trying to dispense the mousse. There is the name of the product on the front as well as the L’Oreal logo. The mousse comes with directions for use on the back as well as a full breakdown of the ingredients used in the product. I have never suffered any kind of irritation to the scalp form using this mousse and I have been using it on a regular basis now for those couple of months.
The mousse comes with a clear plastic cap that covers the nozzle where the mousse will be dispensed from. You are instructed to give the bottle a shake before you use it and then holding the bottle upside down you press the grey button down that is clearly marked on the lid and the mousse will come out, the important thing to remember is that the mousse will swell as you dispense it so you really do only need a little bit as a small amount will go a long way. There is no fragrance to the mousse, I hate that chemical smell that you sometimes get and all you need to do is work it through damp hair to create your desired style.
The mousse can be used to create a number of different styles but you are advised to work it through your hair with your fingers, and it is damp hair that the mousse works best on. It is not in any way sticky and is really flexible in your hair, it is also easy to hold and work with. Once you have styled your hair you will find that the mousse will have an amazing staying power and the style that you have created will stay put all day! That is another great thing about this mousse, I use it for when I wear my hair curly and the curls will stay put all day long without going into any kind of frizzy mess!
The mousse feeling really quite flexible still, some mousse’s that I have used in the past have left my hair feeling really hard and then I get this horrible sticky mess when I am trying to brush it out. This mousse is different in that when you do want to brush it out, it does not leave behind any kind of residue and it will leave hair feeling soft still as opposed to greasy.
In summary, I have no problem at all in recommending this mousse to anyone. I appreciate that it may be a little bit more in cost than other brands on the high street but this one actually does work! The mousse is really flexible to work with and if like me you struggle with your hair and frizz then this mousse will really help. I also love that it leaves no horrible residue when you are brushing it out so you do not instantly feel like you have to wash your hair!
