Minute miracle!
Advantages: Soft, smooth, brighter skin. Disadvantages: The price but it lasts!
...card points!
L'oreal Paris Dermo Expertise Refinish comes in a cellophane wrapped silver box with a viewing window cut into the centre, so you can see the two tubes. Inside there is a moulded piece of plastic keeping the tubes in place. Behind this plastic there is an instruction leaflet.
This product makes four claims,
· Smoothes skin micro relied and refines skin texture.
· Boosts skin's radiance ... ...· Incredibly soft and protected skin.
Yes I know they don't seem plausible, we all hear what the adverts say and turn round and say yeah right to the TV! I will come back to these further on and give my verdict.
The information leaflet has diagrams of how to use both steps as well as written explanations. There is information about the product, advice and safety instructions.
I bought this about eighteen months ago after seeing the adverts with Natalie Imbruglia. I popped into town and while I was there I decided to go to boots and treat myself.
I went into Boots and was looking around for ages. I knew what I wanted but I couldn't remember what it was called. So I spoke to one of the women working in there and she didn't know what I was talking about. I described it to her as a micro-dermabrasion kit and she was stumped. She said she knew who would know though and called a young girl over who was working and she knew straight away what I meant as she was also planning to buy it and give it a try after hearing good reports.
She took me to it and I was expecting it to be about fifteen pounds and wasn't far off. It was on offer at thirteen instead of fourteen, if my memory is correct. Well any money off is a good thing in my book, even when it is just one pound.
I took home my purchase and used it that night. I wont tell you about that experience as it was that long ago I cant remember it properly but I will go through application of this product further on in my review.
I told my other half about it and when I said how much it cost there was a sharp intake of breath and a "You spent how much on that!" He was pleased to see that I had bought it again though as he is rather partial to lying on the bed and having me use this on his face. He loves the result and was sad to see the end of the last tube!
After finishing my Refinish I didn't buy another as I tried other tubes and pots as exfoliators. The thing is nothing lived up to it and made my skin feel anywhere near as smooth. I got bored of them all.
So yesterday whilst in town I decided I'd had enough of wasting my money on exfoliators, which weren't half as effective as ReFinish. So into Boots I went and I bought myself another pack. When I bought it yesterday it cost me thirteen pounds and at the till I was given two money off vouchers. Five pounds off of any purchase from the No7 range and three pounds off of designer hair care products. I also received a bonus of 300 advantage card points!

The information leaflet has diagrams of how to use both steps as well as written explanations. There is information about the product, advice and safety instructions.
The first step of the process is the Micro-Dermabrasion Resurfacing Exfoliator. This tube is a silver grey with a flip lid. The front has blue and silver writing on it, telling you its name and make, as you would expect. The back has very small writing explaining how to use it.
The box explains that this product is. Fragrance free, colourant free, non comedogenic (does not clog pores) and SPF 15 sun protection, balanced UVA/UVB filters.
This tube contains 60mls. The product itself is a thick white paste, which looks similar to toothpaste. This contains a high concentration of aluminium oxide micro crystals (20%) that are used in professional micro dermabrasion. So you are getting a product similar to what would be used in a profession treatment at a much lower price and you can use it over and over again. It also contains Biosaccharide to smooth your skin.
Using it is simple. Wash your face and make sure it is free of makeup. Also always make sure your skin is damp when you apply it. If your skin is dry it is likely to hurt!
The instructions say to dot it about and work it in certain ways. I don't like doing as I am told and find it easiest to squeeze some from the tube onto the finger tips of my left hand (you only need a very small amount!) and then pat the finger tips of my right hand against them and then work it all over my face in circular motions making sure that my whole face is done evenly.
You must avoid your lips and eyes as the skin is too thin in these areas and can get damaged easily. You only need to do this for one minute, two at most. Remember this is how I do it not how they say you should, if you buy this read the instructions before you use it!
Once you have massaged it over the skin, rinse it all off with warm water. Then pat dry with a soft towel Simple!
I like to know that something is working so the abrasive sensation felt while rubbing this over my skin does not bother me. it is rough, that is why it is so effective. Its main job is to remove the top layer of skin and reveal the brighter layer of newer cells underneath. I personally do not find it painful but some people will not like it! If you have sensitive skin this is more than likely not for you as it may be too much for your skin to handle.
After you use step two. A smaller tube that is pearl white. It has a screw on lid, which is a shame as it makes it less easy to use, especially when you have cream on your hands and are trying to screw it back on! It contains 40mls of Post Treatment Optimising Moisturiser. This has an SPF of 15 and contains vitamin E, which is very good for your skin.
You use this after to protect and sooth your skin. After being stripped of its outer layer it is slightly irritable, especially when it comes to the sun. It is more sensitive to the sun and you should make sure you use a sunscreen of SPF15 at all times. You should anyway, everyday. Skin cancer kills! Some foundations have one built in which is a good way to do it, as then you don't feel like you are having to do extra, no hassle and no extra expense.
Applying the second step is easy, like with any moisturiser, put a small amount onto your fingertips and smooth over. You really don't need much of this as it is very rich and I am sorry to say a little greasy. You can tell that it is doing your skin good and once it has sunk into the skin, which doesn't take long you can see the final result.
I find that my skin looks and feels loads better after using this and my skin is not the worst at all. I would have said yesterday before buying this set again that my skin was very smooth and well looked after. After using it again for the first time I am stunned by the difference. I had forgotten just how good it really was.
The title comes from the nickname I have given this product as it only takes a minute and works miracles!
Lets go back to their four claims.
Smoothes skin micro relied and refines skin texture. -Well yes I must admit it does! After using this, my skin feels so soft and smooth. As soft as a babies bum!
Boosts skin's radiance immediately, evens skin tone. -Again it does! My skin looks brighter and more alive. I have more colour in my cheeks and it looks less grey as it can sometimes get a grey appearance in the winter.
Visibly reduces fine lines. -This is impossible for me to comment on. At the age on twenty-six I only have a few fine lines around my eyes where this cannot be used. I have no idea if it would help reduce fine lines or not.
Incredibly soft and protected skin. -My skin is left feeling soft and well moisturised. If I didn't use the second step I think my skin would feel dry and basically traumatised.
When I use step one, I use what is left on my hands to do my elbows and knees occasionally, only when I do it in the shower obviously. It really does make a difference.
I will certainly buy this again when this set runs out which wont be for quite a while. The last set lasted for about six months and that was me using it once a week and my other half using it about once a monthish.
I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't have sensitive skin and likes to have very smooth skin. It is good at brightening your skin and is much cheaper than visiting a salon or Harley Street! It gives great results and lasts ages so is worth the money! Two steps two minutes and brilliant results, what more could you possible want!
Advantages: Quick, noticeable results Disadvantages: May cause reddening or allergic reactions on sensitive skin
...suitable for sensitive skin. The L'Oreal ReFinish Micro-Dermabrasion didn't have this warning on it so I assumed it will probably not cause irritations if I used it gently. The bigger, silver tube ... ...skin and massage gently for a minute. The exfoliator is a white cream containing exfoliating crystals. The crystals themselves are harsh to the touch and have the consistency of sandpaper. Therefore, never apply it on dry skin! Very little amount is needed, normally 4 - 5 small dots on key areas dabbed onto your skin. The smaller, cream coloured tube is Step 2, the Post-Treatment Moisturiser that you apply on dry skin and is meant to protect your ...

Advantages: smooth, soft skin Disadvantages: painful on the face, as well as the wallet!
Ever since I saw Natalie Imbruglia advertising this product, it was a must in the Mack’s essential items to have. What can I say? I'm the Advertiser's Dream. As I’d just turned *cough cough* thirty something plus a few, my skin was starting to look a little jaded after years of waking up at 6am for my lovely job. Ahem!
As I was wandering around Boots after Christmas I saw that this particular kit had a small amount of money off the usual price (a ... ...the points that had mounted up over the whole year. I was going to start 2005 with a healthy skin!
* What is it? *
It’s a two step kit, in a pretty silver box containing:
The Micro-Dermabrasion resurfacing exfoliator (60 ml)
and
The Post Treatment Optimising Moisturizer SPF 15 (40 ml)
Before I go any further, it says quite plainly on the box that it’s suitable for all skin types, *except* sensitive. I have fairly normal skin which doesn’t flare ...

Advantages: Gorgeous healthy looking skin, smoother texture, costs less than professional with same results Disadvantages: breakouts after first few treatments, redness
I bought the L'Oreal Refinish Microdermabrasion Kit when I had read about it in a magazine a week prior. The product boasted results that were just as good as professional treatments and promised glowing, healthy looking younger skin. Having spent good money on a few professional treatments in the past, I decided to give the product a try as a more intensive microdermabrasion method in conjunction with my twice a week St. Ives Apricot Scrub. The ... ...a bargain in comparison to professional microdermabrasion treatments which can be quite expensive for just one session. I was pleased when I saw the products in the box, as they are quite large in comparison to the Mary Kay Microdermabrasion kit that I had used prior to this one. The product is a set of 2 that includes the microdermabrasion crystals and the other which is an after treatment lotion.
I read the box instructions which said that the ...
