When buying false tan it is important that you buy with care, after all, your looks are highly at stake!

I used to be a regular sun bed user, but stopped after considering my health, also I wasn't so much a fan of actually visiting tanning booths.

I have used many different false tan products, non of which really live up to the job. This time however, I decided to take a better look around the shops while also taking cost into consideration. I really didn't want to pay too much, just incase it didn't live up to its reputation.

L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-tanning Spray from Boots set me back only £9.99

The name being a selling point of course, this product also appealed to me because (a) it was in the form of a spray - this could be handy for 'hard to reach' area's, and also I was typically used to cream versions. (b) The self-tan looked quite advanced compared to other self-tanning products sharing the shelf.

The product offered to not only tan my skin with a natural glow (without the orange streaks), but to also keep my skin smooth and hydrated.

The tan comes in a 150ml transparent spray bottle. This being an advantage as it is always a bonus to know how much of the produce you have left before you just one day, run out.

The bottle can become slightly greasy whilst in use i.e switching bottle from hand to hand etc. The product promises to be a non-greasy texture. This being true when it comes to your skin, but not so with the packaging in hand.

I found the spray button slightly difficult to press. Especially when using different hands to spray different arms. In the event that I found the spray button too difficult to press, instead I would spray an amount of the liquid into the palm of my hand and apply accordingly which does help somewhat.

Applying is very easy and no more difficult than applying any other self tan. The product information section does not advise that you exfoliate and moisturize before applying, but I took my own initiative in making sure that I did just this in order to achieve a well built up tan.

Upon applying to the particular section of your body, i found it best to rub in using long movements as to ensure even coverage. The product dries quickly however I found that regardless of how quickly I did or didn't rub in, it did not affect the outcome of the tan.

An adequate amount of spray is dispensed and I found a little would go a long way. Make sure your skin is moisturized though, as you can really feel a difference when trying to apply if your skin isn't. Your hand kind of stops dead in its tracks.

The formula has a subtle friendly scent which doesn't smell of chemicals or of a typical false tan 'burning' aroma.

The formula is transparent which I sometimes feel is a disadvantage as I like to see where I have applied the product in order that I don't miss any parts of my body.
However I found that each time I used this I always got an even looking tan. There were never any obvious stop and start marks, and impressively, no streak marks.

The tan takes about an hour to apply, and really does look subtle and natural. It does not in any way look Orange, nor over the top. In order to build up a tan that suits you, you should re-apply after a few hours of the original application.

I found that one application was enough to give me the tan I wanted.

This product is designed only for the body, however I didn't want to use the left overs from one of my previous tanning lotions as I really did like the colour. Therefore I found by applying some of the lotion to cotton wool and then applying to the face accordingly gave me no problems. I was careful to clearly avoid my eye area however, as I mistakably put the cotton wool ball abit too close for comfort at one point, and my eye's did sting!
Please note, I am not recommending to potential buyers that you use on your face. However, I just wanted to share my own experience in doing this.

The tan does not mark any clothing as which other tanning devices are renown for doing so. The product however does not warn you to wait for a particular amount of time anyway.

Please ensure that you do thoroughly wash your hands after using this product, as it can really give your hands a scary looking affect!
To apply evenly to the top side of your hands, I found it worked well by applying by spraying onto a cotton wool ball and then applying that way. Ensure that you apply evenly though, as you will end up with lines otherwise!

The tan lasts for 2-3 days before fading begins to occur. It doesn't fade in an unnatural way. It just fades as would a normal, natural tan.
I find that by applying every 2 days or so, it keeps the tan on an even keel and therefore you don't end up looking like you've just spent a full month lying in the sun!

I found the formula does leave your skin feeling very hydrated and with a silky smooth looking affect, especially on the legs. My skin does have that extra smoothness I find when I use this product. Another great advantage!

I thoroughly recommend this product, even to fist time users. (or even the palest of people!) This tanning formula is extremely natural and I can not fault it.

My only gripe is with the stiffness of the spray button, which isn't necessarily the be all and end all.

Happy Tanning!!!

This sounds very good, although I am useless at applying fake tan, I usually end up orange or covered in streak marks! I am having a St Tropez done at a salon tomorrow, so I can look bronzed for the wedding on saturday. Lynne x
