I bulk-bought this spray because it was on offer in Jessops for £4.99 last year. It is easily available in Boots, Superdrug, department stores and supermarkets.
I have always preferred sprays as there are easy to apply and dry a lot faster than lotions and I was not disappointed. The spray is easy to apply and once rubbed in it dries quickly. Back than I didn't use latex gloves to apply fake tan but even though it washed off my hands leaving no nasty orange palms at all.
The next morning I woke up looking unbelievably tanned (bit like St Tropez)and I thought this is great. There were no streaks at all and even my face looked beautifully bronzed. I received lots of compliments at work and thought I will be a convert from now on. I applied more that evening hoping for an even darker result.
However, this is when the problems started, within the next day my skin started to itch like crazy and looked parched no matter how much moisturiser I slapped on. I got a bit worried and called the L'Oreal helpline who advised me to stop using it immediately. I was told to go and see my doctor if it got worse and they send me a cheque for £20. Over the next 5 days I moisturised like mad and tried to scrub the tan off every night. It didn't come off easily however, which says to me it lasts a long time. I have no idea what caused the rash, my boyfriend looked at the ingredients but couldn't find anything that I haven't used on my skin before in a fake tan.
It's a shame really as I loved the dark tan I got and the price is quite reasonable at £9.99.
