I received this product along with two others as a Christmas present, the person who bought them knows I am a fan of all L'Oreal products and thought that as I used L'Oreal Hydra repair which is part of the L'Oreal serie expert range I would like to try their absolut repair conditioner which like the shampoo I have also reviewed (Review to follow) states on the bottle is a 'repairing conditioner for very damaged hair'. Do you think she's trying to tell me something?

The instructions say Apply to shampooed hair leave for up to 2 minutes and then rinse I put about a 2" by 2" blob onto the palm of my hand it just about covered the inner part of my palm, I then rubbed my hands together to distribute it evenly through my hair, I have shoulder length average thickness hair, and the amount I used was not enough I had to use some more to do the underside of my hair at the back, I would say it took nearly twice the amount of my usual conditioner, When I was satisfied I had covered my hair from root to tip, I used a comb to make sure every strand was covered I was surprised to find that most of the conditioner stayed on my hair there was very little in the comb, I waited 2 minutes and then rinsed. I did not notice any immediate difference it was no more soft than with any other conditioner.

After using L'Oreal hydra repair as usual I dried and styled my hair in the way I always have and to be perfectly honest I have not seen any difference, this the third use of this product and there is NO difference what so ever. The claim on the packaging is that it 'repairs and revitalises the damaged hair surface' and 'gives instant detangling for soft protected hair' Well my hair does feel soft and it isn't tangled but no more than with my usual conditioner.

I have not seen this in the shops and I cannot find it listed at boots, the only place I have seen it is on the web…after a search I found the most reasonable price was at

Am I impressed…Not really it doesn't appear to be any better than my usual conditioner. It smells very nice and is very thick so no running away and it does stay on my hair. But I had to use a lot more making it quite expensive. It would be unfair of me to say this conditioner is not any good, it did detangle my hair and it did leave it soft but it did not repair the damaged hair surface. That said my hair is very damaged from colouring and the constant use of heat, so I am recommending it to potential buyers because it may be more useful if your hair just needs a boost.
