Now that the sunshine has finally appeared it's time to bare the legs.
I bought L'Oreal's self tanningdry mist spray from the local supermarket for £5.99 when we had a spell of warm weather, but I noticed that it has now gone upto £7.36! so it might be worth shopping around.
For this you get 150ml in a gold coloured cylindrical can. It appealed to me because it is a self tanning dry mist, so there is no need to rub in.
I always have problems getting an even coverage so I decided to follow the instructions very carefully. Apparently the dry mist sprays micro-particles which are much smaller than the traditional self tanned sprays so the formula should not feel wet on the skin. The instructions are wriiten in very small writing so if you struggle to see them you might need a magnifying glass!!
However, you are told to shake the can well before use and to make sure that you do not spray on the face. You must exfoliate the skin before use and mustn't moisturise.
It is recommended that you start with your arms, spraying from the hands up to the shoulders and then spray using circular movements the cjhest and then do the legs from bottom to top.
I was only spraying my legs to avoid wearing tights so I decided to apply the spray in the bathroom as instructed while standing on a towel. It says to spray from about 30cms away, but when applying to the back of the legs it is difficult to make sure that you don't spray too much. I therefore, asked my husband to spray the back of my legs to get an even coverage.
I then had to wait for the tan to appear. Hours went by and I didn't really notice any difference until the following day. Then the results were great - legs look slightly tanned with no streaks, ankles were slightly darker then the rest of the leg and my feet looked unevenly tanned in places. However, I have now found that if you carefully rub the feet, especially around the heel and toes with a cotton wool pad just after spraying this gives a more realistic tan affect.
You can also use the spray again on a following day to get a deeper tan, if needed.
Overall very pleased with this purchase.
