I really suggest than even amature fake tanners try this product out to add a bit of a glow to winter worn skin.

I'm a typically perfectionist Virgo and as such rather tentative when it comes to tanning products. I can't stand the idea of having just one dodgy patch and i'm so particular that I can't just tan my legs I always HAVE to do my WHOLE body and face because I don't like the idea of having a mismatched look when i'm naked (even if it's only me that's going to see!!)

CONSISTENCY
The product is a slightly tinted honey coloured gel. The tint does not show up on your skin when you put it on, but the sheen on your skin when applied makes it possible to see where you're putting it.

MY PERSONAL APPLICATION METHOD. -TRIED AND TESTED!

Firstly I should say that you don't have to be this cautious. The product is very simple to use and develops a light colour the first time you use it but just in case you want to be extra sure, this is how I do it.

1. Bath and good exfoliate & always shave legs.

2. Whether you decide to moisturise first should depend on
how dry your skin is. I would suggest if you want to moisturise use a light lotion and maybe something a bit heavier on your knees, elbows ankles etc. I personally don't bother moisturising except for my knees etc because the gel is pretty smooth and moisturising.

3. Next, I suggest you make sure you're somewhere that's a comfortable place to put the tanner on. What I mean by this is that you should have access to some soapy water, but if the bathroom is really steamy the tanner won't absorb as well because you'll be hot, stressy and sweaty! Perhaps open the door if no one's going to disturb you.

4. I always have to hand soapy water, tissue/cotton wool and a thick moisturiser like body butter. (because i'm very fussy)

5. You can slap it on pretty quickly , and this product spreads well so you don't need masses, but most importantly work METHODICALLY. I always start from the feet up. Also don't bother using a mit, they're a waste of time and in my experience make it more uneven. Just wash your hands at the end (or during if you're taking ages.

6. when I've finished slapping it on i rub a little bit extra moisturiser on the driest parts of my knees and then use the tissue to dab between toes, round bottom of ankle & hairline to absorb any excess. Then I wash my hands, and use a bit of gel on some cotton wool to put it on the backs of my hands in a light film.

7. Ta-da! you're done. just wait a little for it to absorb, or put some loose dark clothes on (no staining) and away you go.

Best tip - like i said i'm pretty fussy. The product initially has a lovely smell but after a little while when it's developing it is slightly chemical smelling which i don't like. But if you're not bothered then it's really not a problem. So is always good to have a bath and apply at night then have a quick shower in morning so you're fresh as a daisy and even better stick some shimmering body lotion on for extra glow.

SUMMARY.
Really simple to use, and develops a light colour so even if you do make a mistake it's not obvious. Then you can reapply the next day if you want a deeper colour. The only thing i would say is that it would be good if this was pump application as it would be less messy but it's not much of a hinderance to this fab product.

price wise this usually sells for about £9 which is ok for such a good product, and alot cheaper than st tropez. and the fact that you can use this on your face means u don't have to buy a seperate tanner. Also you can often get it on offer

Lots of people commented that I looked well and had i had a sunbed ? (they knew i hadn't been on holiday). Lovely!!

I was scanning the net for tips on a product suitable for very pale skin (I have legs like milk bottles!) when I came across this review. I was so impressed that I joined and became a member. I have only used fake tan once before (boots soltan) but it turned out a little orangey. I especially like the helpful tips that you have provided, and will be putting them into practice! I will definately be purchasing this product, thanks to your great review :)

Tried out your tip on using cotton wool to apply to the backs of my hands, worked a treat and for the first time ever i don't have streaky fingers! Thanks!
