I'd only ever used St Tropez before and was wary about using a cheaper brand. At £10.99 it isn't the cheapest you could possibly buy but I do think it's really good value for money, especially if you buy in Boots and get advantage card points. The tube didn't last as long as I expected, I've used it on my legs only twice, and all over once and I think it'll probably run out after another all over application. Maybe I'm just a bit addicted to it!

My first time applying went very smoothly, I didnt find I needed to exfoliate and moisturise excessively before application for it to come out evenly. Just a bit of moisturiser before was all I needed, even on my knees. Much less faffing around than using St Tropez! The tint to the gel is a nice colour, a warm copper-y bronze and makes seeing where you have applied very easy. It doesn't, however, really give you an indication of what the final colour will be. I especially liked the shimmer to the gel, I was complimented on how healthy I looked for the rest of the day!

The product is definitely suitable for first time self tanners, even I didn't manage to mess it up and I'm rather lacking in the skills department for this one! The problems I encoutered were when it came to the back of my leg/heel area and my feet. I didn't apply far enough down my heel and the sides of my feet. Its probably best to cover your whole foot and then wipe the soles. I ended up with huge variations between brown tops and white sides of feet. I also managed to turn the palms of my hands rather orange-y, I probably should have washed them a couple of times whilst I was applying to prevent colour build up. I didn't notice any typical self tan aroma, and the whole process was simple and quick.

I was surprised at how evenly I managed to tan my back, considering I didn't get any help from a friend! There was also very minimal/no mess in the bathroom, which is a definite bonus and almost a miracle considering how much of a mess maker I am!

When it comes to drying time, be prepared for quite a wait. I'm quite impatient and tried to get dressed too quickly, leaving self tan all over my white vest top. Here's another plus point though: it washes out really easily. After about half an hour, I took the top off and gave it a quick rinse with soap and water in the sink and the colour came right out! All in all, I would say give it 45 minutes before you try getting dressed. That should be plenty of drying time.

I have even used this product on my face now and was surprised at its versatility. I didn't expect it to be so good on both body and face. Its shimmer gave a nicely sun kissed look immediately after application.

The final result was a little oranger than I would have expected from the guide colour (which was more bronze). However, it didn't look fake and was a nice healthy tone. Its hard to judge how this would work on other skin tones, I'm very pale and have cool skin tones so self tan is always a bit risky, but this came out very nicely. It's really excellent to use on top of a real tan to extend it. This is what I did once I got back from my holiday to cover up my tan lines and make everyone just a little more jealous! It worked wonderfully!

I would definitely recommend this product. In fact, my mum was so impressed that she offered to buy it off me....no chance, I'm keeping this one!
