With my daughter’s hair getting longer and longer and the fights over brushing her hair getting my physical every day I decided I needed a weapon to help me. My daughter is only 17 months old but is one of the most determined children you could ever meet. She has a lot of will power and determination, and though this will be great for her when she is older for me now it means that everything is an argument.
Everyone always comments on my daughter gorgeous sandy coloured mid length hair. We bath three times a week with Johnson’s baby bath which leaves her hair lovely and soft though we have a huge problem with tangles. Her hair is thick yet very fine and I did not want to start using a wash out conditioner on her hair as I feel that is too much fuss for a 17 month old child. Also it used to be a battle
to wash her hair but we have finally overcome that so I do not want to prolong her hair washing experience.
So, the answer for me was to try L’Oreal Tangle Tamer. I chose L’Oreal simply because that was the only product of this type that was in my local chemist and for £1.89 I thought it was reasonable priced.
The bottle is bright lime green and is shaped like a fish, which I guess is fun for older toddlers but was of no interest to my daughter. The packaging definitely makes it stand out and makes it look expensive. It comes in just one, 200 ml size which last us just over a month with daily use. The curved shape does make it easier for you to hold, especially with wet hands.
The spray is clear in colour and looks basically like water. The smell is gorgeous and fruity. A real clean and invigorating smell. My daughter seems to like the smell too. The smell does linger throughout the day but as it is a nice fresh smell this is a positive thing rather than negative. The product is extremely gentle on my daughters skin and we have never had any bad reaction to it. Obviously you keep it away from eyes and out of the reach of children.
You can use the spray on wet or dry hair which is great as we use it after bath time and in the morning. If you use it on wet hair all you need to do is ensure the hair is damp and spray from root to tip and then comb through. It really is that simple and effectively detangles her hair. As my daughter is still young and the weather is cold I dry her hair with a hair dryer rather than allow her hair to dry naturally. I have found that it helps her hair dry a little quickly and her hair is still tangle free after chasing her around the house with the hairdryer!
We use this spray in the morning too as not only does it detangle her hair but leaves it smelling gorgeous and makes it look shiny and healthy. To use it on dry hair all you do is spray over the hair and comb through - nice and easy. It also helps with styling hair and also nit checks!
We have also found this spray great when my daughter puts sweets in her hair. I spray her hair around the sweet and it helps you to get it out without the need to cut the sweet out of their hair. Her hair is obviously sticky afterwards and the spray can help, along with a squirt of shampoo, to get it out of her hair.
Also this spray is great for the whole family after you go swimming. It detangles and gets rid of that horrible straw like feeling that your hair can get after swimming.
I have used this product on my hair on a few occasions when I have not had time to wash my hair and I have been happy with the results. If your hair is a little greasy it gives it a temporary boost and leaves it shiny. This effect does not last all day long but is useful if you need to pop out before you wash your hair.
The bottle lasts as just over a month, using it at least once a day. The spray costs between £1 - £2 depending where you shop which I think is extremely good value for money considering it takes the hassle out of combing hair and also gives hair I lovely shine and smell.
I have no hesitation in recommending this product not only to help you tame your Childs hair and stop the tears that tangled, knotted hair causes but as a quick temporary boost for your own hair. It detangles with barely any fuss and leaves you time to argue over different things!! Lol!
Thanks for reading, Em XX

This sounds a wonderful product. It's amazing how strong children are at that age, isn't it!! Best wishes, Mandy.XX

I love the smell of this. I don't know whether tangle tamer is responsible, but I use this on both my kids, and despite several outbreaks of nits at school, neither of them have got them so far! I know nits like clean hair, but clean hair with hair products? Maybe it works. Sam :o)
