I was recommended this for my little girl, who is 18 months old, and has gorgous blonde curls, which unfortunately get 'lugs' easily (tangles), making hair brushing time sometimes a little painful.
Tangle Tamer is a product of L'Oreal Paris, well known for product ranges such as Elnett, Studio Line, Feria, Perfect Blonde, to name a few.
What does it look like? ================== It comes in a tall lime green, plastic bottle, with a yellow pump-action type top, over which is a clear plastic lid. I think it is supposed to look like some kind of animal/bird/fish (I'm not sure what), due to the shape (see pic below), and the fact that it has a kind of black eye shape near the top of the bottle.
It has "L'Oreal", "Kids" and "Tangle Tamer" written across the middle of the bottle, in black, yellow, and pink, respectively.
Is it fragranced? ============= Yes, it has the smell of 'sweet pear', according to the bottle, and when it is sprayed, it does indeed have a very fruity, very pleasant pear-like aroma, which does last quite a while on the hair.
How do I use it? ============ Well, you can use it on wet or dry hair:
Wet hair - Towel-dry. Spray on. Comb out. Dry hair - Spray on. Comb out. Done!
And it really is that easy. I mainly use it on dry hair on my little one, as when her hair is freshly washed and towel dried, it is very easy to brush.
I just use a few sprays all around the ends of the hair, avoiding the roots, and then just brush through. It is thus very easy to brush, smells gorgeous, and looks really soft and shiny once totally dry.
The reason I avoid the roots, is due to experience. When I first used it, I just sprayed it all over, and when her hair was dry it just looked greasy. This means you don't actually have to use too much of the spray, therefore, a bottle will last you quite a long time.
How much do I get? =============== The bottle contains 200mls of Tangle Tamer, and as far as I am aware, this is the only size it comes in.
I find this size great, as it lasts a long time, and is handy for fitting in your handbag/changing bag.
Where can I get it, and for how much? ============================= Boots.com - £1.49 Nappyexpress.co.uk - £2.39! and various other prices, mostly going up.
I bought mine from Home Bargains, for less the £1.49, but I can't remember the exact price.
Is it good value for money? ==================== For the length of time the bottle lasts, and the loss of suffering when my child has her hair brushed - definately!
Conclusion ========= I have nothing but praise for this product. It does everything it says on the tin (well, bottle), and in my opinion, is great value for money.
It is very easy to get hold of, even in discount shops, and very easy to use.
My daughter's hair smells gorgeous when I have used it on her, and it makes a great deal of difference when I brush her hair. She still doesn't like it, but it is so much more tolerable and quicker on a morning.
The only thing I don't like about it, which isn't really a fault of the product, is that if you put too much on, or spray on the roots, the hair has a tendency to look greasy.
All in all a fab product!
