I'm a nightmare when it comes to make up. I can never seem to finish a product before I've found another one (or two!) that I want to try. And so, I've ended up with a make up bag the size of a suitcase!!
L'oreal have been advertising their new telescopic mascara on tv lately. And although I already have 3 mascaras in my collection, I couldn't help getting sucked in by the image of Penelope Cruz fluttering her loverly lashes (even though they're probably false lashes or enhanced for the ad). So off I went to my local Boots to see what I could find...
The mascara was easy to find....I just headed for the massive cardboard cutout of Penelope's head! There wasn't many left so I'm guessing that it's been selling quite well.
The price of the mascara was £8.99 but Boots had an offer on and I got it for £6.99. It comes in a silver coloured case about 5 inches long and 1/2 an inch wide. It has black writing across it saying "L'oreal Telescopic. Clear Definition" and in smaller writing "length + precise definition mascara. High precision flexible brush". As far as I know the only colours this is available in is black and brown. L'oreal claim that this mascara will give you 60% longer lashes and that the precision brush will leave no clumps.
The mascara brush twists open. The handle it easy to grip and the brush looks rubbery and is quite flexible. It's not caked in mascara so I know it's not going to be thick and clumpy. The application is great. It goes on smoothly and is easy to apply the right amount. I find that some other mascaras are too think and it makes it hard not to put too much on, but this is ok. The precision brush actually works (too my surprise) and clearly seperates each lash. My lashes do look longer, although I wouldn't be able to say 60% longer. I mean, how do they test that anyway!!
Ok so far so good. My lashes look longer, defined and not a clump in sight. However my lashes don't look any thicker. But I can't really count that as a negative as L'oreal have not mentioned volume with this mascara at all. Actually, the only negative point I could find is that it takes a long time to dry. The first few times I used it I ended up with little black dots around my eyes where I had blinked to hard before it had dried properly.
So all in all I quite like this product. I think it does what it's been advetising and is not bad value for money. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a mascara that gives length and definition, but maybe not so good if your looking for fuller lashes.

Great Review. I bought this mascara but I found it to thick and gloopy and quite hard to remove.

Great review, i have this and agree that it's good for length and definition but not volume. Like u, i bought it as a result of the advertising. I read that L'Oreal later admitted to adding fake lashes to Penelope Cruz for the adverts! Ha! I'm such a sucker for advertising! x

Thanks for the review. I was going to try this but think I'll give it a miss. I have long lashes already but not very many of them! I'll keep looking for volumising ones.
