L'Oreal Visible Lift Instant Lift Foundation

L'Oreal Instant Lift Foundation is, as the name suggests, a foundation enriched with collagen and elastin to help minimize the appearence of aged skin and provide an instant lift.

This is not, however, why I bought it. Much to your suprise, I'm sure, I am a teenage boy. I bought this foundation as I am an actor and was appearing in a run of shows earlier in the year, and obviously needed make up so as not to horrify the audience into an early grave!

Where is it available?

Visable Lift Foundation is available in the usual health and beauty stores around the UK, I found mine in Boots. Having known absolutely nothing about foundation, and make up in general, I decided to buy it as it was the first I saw, and meant I did not have to skulk around the make up section in fear of being seen by someone I know! I cannot remember exaclty how much it cost but was no more than £6 or £7.

How does it work?
Like the rest of foundations, its purpose is to create a flawless complexion. This, however, like I stated above, is also enriched with collagen and elastin to provide the 'Instant Lift'. It achieves both.

How to Apply
It is really down to preference but I used a round make up sponge, run under cold water so that it did not absorb too much of the foundation. Alternatively, you could use fingers to apply it.

Results
Now, as a make up virgin, I was aprehensive about using it. Not making sure I looked caked when I got up on stage. In my experience, I found this foundation to be light and went on very easily. It certainly gave my skin a lift, glow and smoothing out. However, it did make me seem a little pale and washed out. As a response to this I applied bronzer. I have used bronzer during shows in the past without any foundation on and it looked very natural, but with Visable Lift on, I found that I looked slightly orangier, (excuse the grammar). I didn't need as much bronzer either as it went on very easily and smoothly over the foundation.

For those looking for a natural look, I would not advise using this foundation with a concealer as I did to conceal dark circles. A mixture of the two tends to result in flaky make up, especially after powder has been applied. Although, this could just be my skin and may work perfectly well for others.

I found that the shades Visable Lift come in blend well with my natural colour, and there are plenty of shades to suit all skin colours and types.

In terms of removing it at night, it does tend to seep into the pores of your skin throughout the day. I used to wash my face with just water thinking I was rid of it, until I went over my face with a toner one time to reveal lots of Visable Lift still left in the pores of my skin. However, I think this applies to any foundation.

Value For Money?
I have used this foundation on and off for close to half a year, (with the occasional use for school on rough days and sleepless nights!), and have still not used up half the bottle yet. I would argue this is a great value for money foundation and would last a very long time, even if used everyday.

Overall
Overall I would definately reccomend it to anyone who wants a moisturizing, anti-ageing foundation that makes your face feel smooth and slightly 'plumper' (in a youthful way). Very much value for money. A good product.
