    I've got a new computer with USB 3.0 ports, so I was looking for a USB 3.0 drive with high disk capacity to be able to take full advantage of the USB 3 speed. I've chosen this drive because Lacie has a good reputation for quality, design and customer service. And it's not my first Lacie drive, so I have some first hand experience to confirm that. After unpacking my new Porsche drive, I connected the USB 3 cable that came with the drive to my PC. That was pretty much it as far as the setup is concerned. The drive is impressively quiet. I purchased this drive mainly to free up some space and also for backup. I liked how it looked and the specs seemed nice, so I gave it a try. By nice specs I mean: 2 TB storage capacity, USB 3.0 interface that is backward compatible with USB 2.0, solid 5mm-thick aluminum enclosure, compatibility with WIndows and Mac OS, included software package (backup for Mac & PC and Lacie private-public encryption software), energy saving mode, and 10Gb of free space on Wuala ... more
