    Disadvantages Disadvantages a bit heavy

    I bought the 2TB desktop drive in 2010. It's been working flawlessly. When purchasing this drive, you get the hard drive itself, a cable for each of the connection ports (USB, eSATA, Firewire 400 and Firewire 800), the AC cord, Genie and Intego Backup Assistant software and a user manual. The design of the drive is very neat. The casing is made out of solid aluminum. It looks sleek, and doesn't feel cheap or weak like some plastic enclosures.     I currently own four Lacie d2 Quadra external hard drives: 1 x 250GB, 1 x 500Gx, 2 x 1TB. All of them work without any issues, and as far as I am concerned d2 is rock solid. On one hand thanks to the overall build quality, which is really good. On the other hand thanks to the solid aluminum casing that has a unique heat sink design offering a larger surface area for better heat dissipation, which allows to keep the drive cool and quiet (no fan needed).
