Being an online gamer i decided to go out and purchase a headphone set so i could talk in person to my fellow gamers instead of typing into the games chat all the time (which often resulted in me letting my team down as i would get shot whilst typing)
The main criteria for my purchase was...
1. Needed to be hands free with a mic attached to the headset.
2. Needed to have a long enough cable to reach my sound card without being streched.
3. Needed to be cheap, i didnt want to pay silly prices for something i would only use 3 times a week!!.
Enter the Labtecaxis 301, it is all of the above, it was simple to setup and came provided with a 2.4 metre cable which is ample for me.
The product also supports speech recognition although i havnt had the oppturnity to test the accuracy of this feature yet and a 1 years manufacture ...
Advantages: Light on the ears , built in mike, super sound Disadvantages: Wires can get in the way.
noticed how funny it is, to listen to someone singing along , out of tune , with their headphones on?. I recon it's because they cant hear their own voice, but they still think they're better than the winner of X factor!.haha ?. Not. But with these on and the mike working as loud as the music, you hear yourself and can adjust the pitch of your voice to match the song being played. (So you'll sound a whole lot better!)
General sound quality is superb. Mid and high end sounds are first class, but the lower bass sounds of today's music will have the Labtecs struggling a bit. Media player 9 or 10 will let you adjust the sound quality to suit the environment that the sounds will be listened to. I've set the media payer to normal speakers, and adjusted down the bass until no distortion can be heard. You'll find nearly all 80's music fine, but ...

The webcam, firstly requires 'labtec' programming to be installed. The disc accompanies the webcam in the box is very easy to install. Instructions appeared on screen, and the process roughly 5 minutes to complete. Once the programme is installed, the camera is ready to use, and attaches to the laptop via a USB port.
The webcam can be used to take pictures, videos, internet messaging, or voice messaging. To capture pictures and videos, the small webcam icon in the task bar needs to be left clicked once. A small window of options will open. Quick capture then needs to be clicked on. This will open arectangular window in the middle of the screen.
