CONCLUSION
This camera is a great accessory and will be fun and serious when you want it to be and for only £10 you cant really go wrong so well done labtech another grrrrrreat product :D

Aesthetics For only £10 each you can't be expecting the best of looking camera for that sort of money as I think paying allot more will get you a better looking camera and only a few features more that you don't use. The silver body although cheap does not feel cheap as the whole unit is rather sturdy as well is the build quality. The lens is not that big either and copes well with pictures. The base on the bottom of the web cam is made of a soft sticky rubber that sticks to the top of your monitor or desk. This can be a bit of a pain sometime as the actual camera parts of the unit moves about allot and it can be very hard to position the camera up or down on the base. Also another niggles with the unit is the cable pulls the unit to much and although very long and will reach to the back of your pc from about 2meters it does still put to much strain on the unit's positioning and will fall of monitors. I overcame this problem by simply using double sided sticky tape that stuck the base down and this has stuck for about 2 yrs now. The lens can be easily adjusted to give focus by turning the outside of it which is very easy to do and does not take along time.
TECH
The csmos-vga sensor although not a mega pixel still delivers great quality pictures for the use on the internet and MSN MESSENGER. This web cam also has video capabilities and this means that it is great for anyone using MSN to YAHOO messenger as it gives out a frame rate of about 30fps and a resolution of 640x480, this may seem rather pathetic but when considering that you can buy this camera for about £10 now it is rather good and is allot better than competitors (Microsoft), the quality of video is far better than my old Microsoft web cam. The stills that this camera gives are at a resolution of about 1280x960 which can give some cracking good shots of you sat by your pc on taking a picture of your friends. Expected from a camera like this is the negative effect that to little or to much light has on it. To dark gives very grainy and pixelated shots, where as to much light gives fussy, lens flared shots that sometime look very arty but aren't really appropriate for the use of this camera. Also a very good point for the msn users are the microphone that is built in to the camera, this gives you the chance to be able to talk to your friends across the world as well let them see you, the quality is not great but is very expectable. The best point about this camera is the built in security camera that you can set to record a part of your home when something passes in front of the screen. This will then save the file and either email it to you OR save it then add a user defined password and wait for you to see who has been invading your room. This can be very fun to see if your brother steals your sweets but can be used very seriously as one man proved as he caught 2 robbers red handed stealing from his room, they were then fined and jailed. You don't need an amazing computer to use this camera all you really need is a USB port, but for those of you who want to no more here are the system requirements PC with Intel® Pentium® III 500, Celeron® or AMD™ Athlon™ processor (or better) Windows® 98SE, Me, 2000, XP USB port CD-ROM drive 128MB RAM 75MB disk space Sound card with speakers The ease of use to install this camera is very simple as all you do is put the cd in then follow the instructions on screen! This is a nice webcam which is foolproof and easy to install. Within a matter of seconds I had this hooked up to one of my USB ports and XP automatically installed the relevant drivers (however I did install the software beforehand). It works fine with all my applications, in particular windows live messenger where I use it a lot to hold video conversations with friends and family via the use of its built-in ... ...feature is the photo button located on the top which takes a shot when pressed, just like a camera!
Just like any other webcam you have the fucntionality to change the brightness, colour, saturation etc through the webcam control panel found with the bundled software. ...progamme on a cd called Labtec webcam. This includes quickcapture which is a small progamme which you use to take pictures and reasonably long videos. You can also use it on windows messenging,msn and yahoo messenging from Labtec Webcam. It also has picture e-mailing which means you can send videos in emails. You can also make you own digital photo albums which makes it easier to sort out all you photos.There are other features as well including ... ...It has a built in microphone which you can use either at the same time as the camera or seperately. It has a USB cable which plugs onto the back of the computer on older computers or the front on newer computers.

It is very simple to use. The programme that comes with it is very simple and clear. However sometimes it can be hard to find where you have saved your pictures.

Labtec's Webcam Pro is a cheap and efficient way of setting yourself up for video calling via the internet. At the time of purchase I managed to buy a twin set of these camera's for approximately £12 - pretty good value for money, so good in fact that I gave the spare one to my brother for free. Although generally in Windows XP the drivers may install automatically, it also comes with a drivers disc to avoid problems installing them. The installation ... ...handy software utility that you can use to record and play back videos and adjust settings such as brightness, contrast and colour. Playing around with these settings can get you a pretty good picture, though the animation is a little slow and jerky. I wanted a webcam so it was easy for me to talk with my college chums while working on projects at home.
I saw this in one of the local shops in town thought i paid £20 for it.
Firstly it took me three atempts to install as it kept crashing on me even though my laptop matched all the system requirements. That was the first problem that i had with this webcam.
Now once you have installed the cam and you use it for the first time there was a ton ... ...this was to set sound and light and so and so up for the cam.
Then i used the cam on the internet and found that it was slow and jerky and the colours were poor quality, i deiced to maunally go in and try and make the frame rate better and the quailty and still found it poor.
I have even used the webcam for taking pics using the software that came with it, pics are of better quality but no where near as good as a digital camera, making videos on ...
