The notes to Lacoste Booster state that this fragrance has hints of Menthol, Nutmeg, Eucalyptus and Lavender. Taking those main ingredients into account you would think this aftershave would have a very fresh, sweet smelling aroma with wooden undertones. You’d be wrong.

As you may be aware, I like my smelly products and this bottle entered my collection thanks to my brother. He left it at my house after staying for a few days. It sat in my bathroom for well over twelve months before I actually smelt it out of curiosity! The reason it had never aroused the urge to smell it previously is due to the extremely ugly packaging! The bottle looks ugly, cheap and very tacky!
The picture above shows you what the bottle looks like, however it has to be seen first hand to appreciate how bad it is. A green bottle coated in white plastic with a white plastic pump spray. Classy, I think not. I have never seen this aftershave in my local Boots or Rackhams and even if I had, the bottle would have made me steer well clear.
This fragrance was launched in 1996 and is aimed at the sporty, adventurous type of man who wants to feel manly but pleasant at the same time. Taking a peek at the Lacoste website will throw reams of information relating to the history of the company and what this fragrance will do for you.

The first time I sprayed this onto my face I gagged! Although I hadn’t sprayed any in my mouth I could actually taste the fragrance it was so strong! This wasn’t a fruity, sweet smell. It was heavy and extremely overpowering. It was difficult to actually distinguish any particular smells at all.
Obviously panic set in. I stank! I was late for work and I literally hummed to high heaven of this stuff. Rather than taking another bath, I headed off to work with rather paranoid thoughts running through my mind. Surprisingly, given 20 minutes, the fragrance changed dramatically. The overpowering odour had calmed down and certain smells became evident. The Lavender in particular was most noticeable, and rather than being heavy on my nose, it was bearable and in all honesty, quite refreshing for such an earthy aftershave.
After a few hours of wear, the smell changed again. The ingredients although surprising combined well to give a heavy citrus smell.
Marketed as a manly aftershave it did have that rough around the edges smell, but with only a small amount of time was needed for this to transform into an elegant, subtle fragrance that drew compliments from young and old alike. Jo1l (being in the young camp) can’t get enough of it and my local landlady follows me around the pub, not because I’m a dodgy character, but because she adores the lingering smell.
Given that the fragrance starts off being so powerful and heavy, only a little is needed to give you a great feel. Personally, I would recommend this to men aged 30+, and for use really during the day. It’s nothing special and if I had a choice, I wouldn’t use this as a pulling fragrance as there are much better aftershaves on the market that will bring the ladies flocking (namely CK Truth, Acqua de Gio and Joop).
This isn’t your young mans fragrance, if I had to sum it up, I’d say it was an upmarket version of Old Spice. It’s not going to set the world on fire, but you’re not going to knock people out with the stench.
The cheapest I have seen Lacoste Booster was online at www.strawberrynet.com for £10.40 for a 50ml bottle. Bearing in mind only a tiny bit is required this is great value for money. Not only is this really cheap, the smell lingers for an absolute age still being evident after 10 hours.
Lacoste Booster is too heavy a fragrance for me. I personally would only buy this if I was watching the pennies.
I prefer to pay that little bit extra and get a light, fruity sweet smelling fragrance from one of the more established fashion/fragrance houses. If you like/enjoy Old Spice, Brut or Fahrenheit this would suit you down to the ground for daywear, and daywear only.
RECOMMENDED (just)
Thanks for taking the time to read and rate.Steve :o)

The Lacoste company was set up by the French tennis legend René Lacoste the twice Wimbledon champion of the 1920's. Lacoste earn't the nickname of the Alligator due to a bet with the French Davis cup team Captain in 1927 whereby he won a set of Alligator Luggage. It was in 1933 Lacoste went into the "fashion" business with a well known French knitwear company and the infamous alligator logo became synomnious with Lacoste products. Lacoste ... ...high price tag!
Lacoste Booster was launched in 1996 -the year that René Lacoste died. Launched as a follow up to the successful 1984 Lacoste Pour Homme, Lacoste Booster was hyped in the media as the aftershave for the adventurous and the optimist: having a soaring, physical effect and being a stimulant. Perhaps they should have just marketed it as "Wear this you'll pull" But obviously the Ad men need to keep themselves in a job!

Advantages: Clean smell of modern, high quality Disadvantages: The British bottle style is not as nice as the foriegn one
Lacoste Booster is great for everyday wear. It is quite a male smelling fragrance and seems to last well. It is very fresh and reminds me of clean and modern aroma. Compared to others I have used it is very distinctive and has had nice remarks from other people when the have smelt it. The bottle is in a cool, classic style. The one that I currently have is a different and better look to the one that is shown in the picture. I guess this is because ...

Advantages: smells clean Disadvantages: too strong, too soapy, yuk
Lacoste fragrance is no good at all so don't buy it. If you want to smell good and like soap then just have a shower and use some dove soap and no cologne. If you want to smell pleasant do NOT wear this. It basically smells like you tried to have a shower and rigorously soaped yourself with some powerfull antibacterial soap and then didn't have time to wash it off. This is really a stron fragrance which does not even deserve the name fragrance. I ... ...my club along with a lacoste shirt. Now I don't know why they didn't just give me the shirt which was decent and give the cologne to the loser, seeing as it is a bad odour. Well there isn't much to say about this cologne except it is strong, sharp, and very unattractive. TABOO!
i don't know about the staying power because i put it on my wrist to try it out when i got it and washed it off inmediately so i'll put satisfactory, i could still get a ...

My personal use of the perfume is to wear it in the evening when there is a special occasion, during the day only when there is a party. On interviews (the smell is irresistable and would attract the interviewer positively)....just a thought!! but overall, the best time is the evening.

I went on a trip to Isle of Man with my college for field work related to Biology. On the ferry me and my friends went window shopping as we were going to save what we liked until we had ended the trip and had a few coppers left
We wandered into the different shops and ended up into the toy stores. At the back of the toy store was an 'Eau de ...
Advantages: Lovely fruity light fragrance, unique bottle, long lasting, good value for money Disadvantages: None
Lacoste Style in Play was an aftershave that came into my collection purely by chance thanks to a friend who offered me a number of unboxed tester fragrances at a discounted price. Personally was I a big fan of LacosteBooster and had no hesitation in relieving her of his bottle after a quick whiff.
Launched in April 2004, Style in Play is a sporty fragrance that was marketed as an aftershave that contrasted purity and intoxication. Although I had been adverts for this in most male grooming magazines at the time, I hadn't actually seen it in any shops and indeed when purchasing another bottle I did have to make the purchase online. Available in 75ml and 125ml bottles, a 125 ml bottle of Style in Play will set you back in the region of £30.
The first thing to strike you about this product is the unique design of the bottle ...
