Review of "Lakeside Village"
I first visited this shopping Outlet some 5 years ago when it was more commonly known as 'The Yorkshire Outlet'. Then I lived some 35 miles away but once in a while me and my ex husband would make the pilgramage to Doncaster to see what bargains we could find. (Strangely enough always near to Christmas). Now I have moved to South Yorkshire and I'm about 20 minutes away. I went there just last week to look for some jeans as my old ones don't fit, probably as I have been dieting ready for my forthcoming Wedding. Here are some Facts about The Lakeside Village Outlet Shopping Centre. When we went we were only supposed to be there for an hour but strangely the time soon flew and 3 hours later and sveral shopping bags later we returned home somewhat frazzled!☼ Directions:
Lakeside Village is situated about a mile from Jct 3 of M18. The M18 is easily reached from the M1, M62 or A1.
Doncaster Train Station is about a mile away. The Local Bus Service also have buses running out to the Lakeside Village on a regular basis. It is very easy to find with it being on the outskirts and close to the Motorway. Just being a few roundabouts away.

☼ Opening Times:
Monday - Saturday 10.00am til 6.00pm
Thursday - 10.00am til 8.00pm
Sunday - 11.00am til 5.00pm
Recently Lakeside Village has been extended somewhat. It used to have all the shops down one side in a crescent shape, now they have built new units on the opposite side. There are more places to eat. Although this has taken part of the car parking spaces up there still is plenty. Although on bust times the queues can be quite bad. There has been 19 new shops added to the exsisting ones making it a total of 48 shops in all. It is much better now, Much more to see than previously. it seems better spread as before you were just walking along a large semi circle but now with there being shops on both sides it has more of a shopping centre feel to it.
☼ Eating Places:
There are a large amount of Eateries in this somewhat small space, having said that they are needed and each is very busy usually. They consist of:
Cafe Thornton's not to be missed!
these are situated in the old original crescent of the centre. Based on the edges of the carpark are;
McDonalds (kids fave!)

My personal favourites are Lee cooper for the bargain jean's purchases and The Remington shop. You can buy allsorts of little gadgets and hair care products at a fraction of high street prices. Also the Thorton's cafe is not to be missed, although sadly not for anyone watching their figure. The M & S shop is suprisingly good. Their offers are really good. There is a huge variety of clothing in all sizes. Another is Virgin Cosmetics. It has all your favourite brands but cheaper.
There are facilities for the Disabled and Toilets for the General Public. Also a Baby Changing Area.There is now a childrens play area outside as well as an indoor one. There is a Cash Point Machine something I always need and an Information Centre.
Personally I really like this shopping Centre. Its layout is easy to get around and there's something in it for everybody. It's not a place you can visit quickly I have found, as there's so much choice. Hopefully you will find this information of some use if ever you are visiting South Yorkshire and fancy a shopping trip. You may bump into me and I'll cadge a Coffee from you!Sonia xxx
