So, you're sitting with an old man, preferably with a big white beard in a library of sorts. The walls are caved with books, mementos and photographs of a bygone era. There are two large oxblood red leather chairs in the room, and the roaring open fire is encased with mahogany structure. The room is dark, but each flicker of each flame highlights a different character on his face.
He recounts a story that leaves you bewildered. A tale of treachery, adventure and dashing bravado in a bygone era, it may about some treasure, a dalliance with a lost pacific cannibal tribe or even a First World War hero valiantly conquering the enemy single handily. (It's up to you; it's your own story). He asks you if you want a drink, he reaches for the decanter.
Enthralled as you are, you take it with a pinch of salt. Society has taught you not to take things at face value, he could be senile or worse still trying gain your confidence in order to con you. How do you know?
It's easy to tell; Rum.
If he pours Whiskey for himself, he was probably a member of the upper echelons, Brandy and he more than likely came across the fable at an after party dinner, and if it was Vodka, then he may very well be a spy.
You see, Rum is what the heroes drink, it's not a sophisticated drink, and it's a way of life for them; a calming substance for the down trodden hero. Sailors, pirates and detectives that are on the edge all drink Rum. It's essentially Lucozade for the anti hero.
The most commonly drunk dark rum is Lambs (with the exception of Barcadi, but that is a little more pure and warrants a different review entirely.) Established in the 1840's by Alfred Lamb, whose distillery was ultimately bombed out of London during World War Two.
The uniquely sweet and spicy flavour produced from sugar canes gathered from the West Indies, and throughout the Caribbean before its distilling process of being aged for a year before being held in a bourbon flask, ready for consumption.
Colouring
Lambs has a consistency darker than whiskey, it should look red, warm and ultimately lethal. It is.
Taste.
Lambs is a very distinctive taste, the first nose full can be deceptively mistaken for Brandy or a strong cherry, the main give away is the strong woody spices that venture up your nasal passages and give your brain a good old welcome home hug.
When tasting, I would suggest just a sip, because the immediate reaction from your palate is alcohol, alcohol, alcohol. Only after a few moments will you be able to taste those specific rich spices that makes you feel like you are eating an antique Chippendale sideboard.
Gulp at your peril and it will make your eyes water, struggle to resurface, before accepting defeat and going to work on your chest cavity warming you up and putting you at ease. You should feel considerably calmer and ready to face any challenge head on, i.e. a swashbuckling duel with an evil count.
Mixing.
As with all spirits it can be diluted with a mixer. May I suggest Coke? For two reasons; the first being that I know of no finer drink, the two dark syrups bode so well, and the second being that I can think of no other.
Brand and Bottling
Lambs are still pioneers for all things British. The bottle itself is adorned in the Union Jack and represents itself as one of the last bastions of the empire. It's message is clear: I am traditional, but non confirmative. I am a loose cannon!
Availability
If you do not currently reside on a battleship, may I suggest drinkon.com http://www.drinkon.com/Details/SP0041/Detail/Spirit at the super affordable price of £16.49 for a 70cl bottle?
Conclusion.
By now you will know if your Jackonory session was a complete fabrication or a welcome addition to your anecdotal story telling. Lambs really is an exceptional drink, and will firmly cement your place as a modern, daring and charming individual!
Advantages: Unique toffee taste, rich and dark, U.K. Brand Disadvantages: Addictive, As with all alcohol it must be drunk in moderation
...of what it is.
Lambs Navy Rum contains the standard 40% Alcoholic content associated with good quality rums but personally speaking I felt it to be much stronger. One of the reasons for this is certainly because it was the first time that I was drinking it and the other reason would be that generally speaking the darker rums are generally heavier than the white rums. Also these dark rums like Lambs Navy and Captain Morgan, that seem to be associated ... ...The unique taste of Lambs Navy Rum has become so popular that a company in the States makes coffee beans laced with Lambs Navy Rum.
On the same note Lambs Navy Rum is very popular as a mix with coffees and other warm drinks, which is helped in a major part by it’s toffee tasting similarities.
Lambs Navy Rum is widely available throughout the U.K. and a comes in a standard 70cl bottle. This is available for between £14.00 to £15.00.

The bottle of Lambs Navy Rum that was sitting in my cupboard. I bought it last week ready for Christmas. I buy a bottle of spirits every week from now until Christmas. Then I don’t have to lay out large sums of money all in one go.
Temptation, miserable weather and greed got the better of me. Knowing that this gorgeous tasting rum is aged in oak casks and has a mixture of rums from Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad. Using these ... ...me I know.
The bottle is an unusual shape too, it’s not round, it’s not triangle I know that for sure. I am hopeless with shapes is it a hexagon that has got 6 sides. Well, whatever it’s got 6 sides. Oh, who gives a damn. On the front of the bottle is a label spanning three sides. In big black writing is the word Lamb’s. In white underneath a picture of a flag it has the word Navy. Under that in gold writing is of course ...

Advantages: Good strong rum flavour, don't that leave that nasty cheap taste! Disadvantages: Can be expensive!
I haven't written a review on drink before but Lamb's Navy Rum is my favourite drink of all time.
I don't want to go into loads of fancy terms and names etc so I'll keep it simple!
This rum is what you expect when you ask for a rum at the bar.
It's great with any kind of mixer especially coke with a slice of lemon!
Because of its disadvantage of a higher price, it doesn't have many draw backs like many do with a horrible aftertaste and the need ... ...rum's for a while now and have tried the usual such as Morgan's, Morgan's Spiced Rum, Malibu, White Rum etc but this is the proper jobby, its a dark rum with a smooth flavour that does grab your throat when you take it neat like all real rum's should.
For those of you who haven't heard of Grog, its a mixture of water, sugar, lemon and Rum and this Rum makes a fantastic Grog!
It keeps its flavour along with the hints of sugar and lemon mixed in.

...my pants, I’m on about
Lambs Navy Rum. Hence the title Baah, Baah.
An all-round neat little drink, ideal on its own, served with coke or even made into mysterious cocktails for those special romantic occasions.
Got to admit Lambs navy rum wouldn’t be my first choice of rum, for me Pusser's Navy Rum is the tops or should I say a mind blowing experience with a volume of 54..5% . the only thing that gets to me is the price £21.99. so that is only ... ...Lambs Navy Rum, a good price at £11.23 for a 70cl bottle, full of that warming liquid with a 40% proof. So I’ll stick with that for normal use, I use a fair bit of it too, not only for drinking but also for cooking, one of my passions.
What a weird bottle it comes in, any shape like that and I call it 50 pence shape. No good on shape names.
You can buy it at nearly all supermarkets or liquor stores it’s such a well known make.
