I just noticed this ..a bit late in the day! Amazon and publisher's website (see link) attribute authorship to Alasdair Gray. William Boyd is credited solely with the introduction. The publisher's website (for the ebook) - clearly indicates this on the front cover. The hardcover copy I own -but can't find- correctly names both too. I hope it turns up, it's definitely worth a re-read.
