My skin type has always been dry but as I'm getting older ( I'm in my mid-forties) I'm increasingly concerned about the signs of ageing on my face so I'm very picky about the skin products that I use. I've been using Clarins Cleansing Milk for Dry/Normal Skin for about 2 years now and I'm very happy with this product.
The product is packaged in the trademark Clarins clear plastic flattened oval bottle with red writing and a white lid and the standard size is 200ml / 7ozs. Although it is a cleansing milk it is thicker and richer than most other milk cleansers and is a very pale green in colour.
It contains Vitamins A and E to cleanse, Alpine Herbs to soften and Arnica to regenerate and tone the skin. The Alpine Herbs give it a pleasant fragrance which does smell herbal but is not too overpowering.

- The texture
This is surprisingly thin in texture. Given that it is a dryskin lotion, I was expecting it to be richer and thicker in consistency.
Sainsbury's are certainly correct in their claim that it isn't greasy and it absorbs quickly in to my skin, in particular the drier skin sections. This is another positive for this lotion as so many others take what feels like an age to absorb in to your skin.
- Effectiveness at hydrating my skin
I don't have very dryskin all over but suffer from dry patches and flakiness on my shins, in particular during cold weather spells.
This lotion has worked efficiently in these areas and has certainly kept the unsightly flakes at bay and has reduced the itchiness of these areas, if used regularly.

Advantages: Cleans skin, removes make up, moisturising. Disadvantages: Little pricey, but you get what you pay for!
of this cleanser goes a long long way, but I am a greedy girl and always use far to much because it feels so nice - but I am sure it could last someone months and months depending on how often they used it!
It has a beautiful texture, very smooth and velvety and goes on well - it holds its consistency very well.
After using this product my skin is always gorgeously smooth and feels very very clean. It always removes all traces of makeup, including waterproof mascara which is a big bonus!
I have normal/combination skin, and it dosent dry it out, it would be very good for dryskin as it is so moisturising!
The sample was supposed to last me 3 weeks, but it has lasted me 2 months! I cannot recommend it highly enough, and if you are still unsure then wait for Estee Lauder to give samples away when you buy anything (they do this a lot ...
