The fragrance: ≈•≈•≈•≈•≈•≈•≈•≈•≈•≈• Hypnose is a floral fragrance which is described by Lancôme as a woody oriental fragrance. It s main notes are passion flower, vanilla absolute (the most concentrated form of vanilla and used in very high-end products in small quantities as it is a very expensive commodity), and Vetiver wood.
Passionflower is a very sweet floral smell, almost fruity .vetiver wood is a resinous woody smell and vanilla is an easily recognisable aroma. Combining these 3 ingredients, plus the other notes that are not specified but are evident in the perfume, creates a very sweet smell and the vanilla is quite evident in my opinion and is definitely the stronger note. Unfortunately I don’t like vanilla. It makes me feel nauseous and really is an aroma I detest- for example I find it hard to be in the same room as a vanilla candle.
I find the overall effect of this fragrance to be overly sweet, almost sickly in fact and considering it is such an expensive range it gives the affect of children’s sweets. If you remember the Parma violets and how you could smell the sweetness; well that is the effect I perceive from this perfume- obviously not the violet component – just the sweetness.
I don’t really consider this perfume to be for my age group and is probably more suited to younger women. The overwhelming femininity of this perfume is far too girly for my taste. Much as I like florals I don’t care for them to be as overpowering as this one. Personally I feel there is too much sweetness which isn’t balanced by deeper notes. The vanilla I find to be excessive and it overwhelms the majority of the other components.
The appearance; ťťťťťťťťťťť
The whole range is beautifully presented. The perfume is in a beveled glass bottle that has a somewhat twisted appearance … as if someone has taken the top of the bottle and given it a quarter turn pulling it out of shape . The bottle is apparently styled around a kimono and how it drapes the body. This faceted appearance is very attractive and catches the light in a lovely manner
The colour scheme is lilac, with touches of purple and blue. The gift sets are extremely well presented and carry on the amethyst theme and have a passionflower on the lift up lid of the box. The other components of the range… shower gel, deodorant and body milk are in a darker bluish purple which is very attractive.
The gift set I received contained the body lotion along with the Eau De Parfum Spray and an attractive lilac travel pouch. The body lotion felt wonderful on my skin and even after scrubbing it off in the shower my skin remained smooth and felt moisturised.

Perfumes are a very personal thing and my dislike of the components of the fragrance may well be entirely different to yours. Lancôme do put a lot of care into their products; for example this perfume is very long lasting and beautifully packaged . There are some other perfumes of theirs that I do like very much.
If you like sweet perfumes that are very floral and feminine you will probably like this, especially if you do like vanilla but in my case it joined the other discarded products that make their way to my nieces possession to be divided among her and her friends .I would recommend you try a tester next time you are browsing through perfumes as it could be very pleasing to the right person
I have rated Hypnose fairly highly because perfume is such a personal experience and it seems rather unfair to mark it down simply because I abhor vanilla. I have a colleague who rates it very highly and wears it often ( unfortunately for me but there you go… such is life)
Advantages: Sweet, floral and light. Disadvantages: None. It maybe pricey but the bottle lasts for ages.

Lancome are a well known name in the world of perfume and they have a wide range of classic perfumes that have classic price tags to match. But in all fairness you will only get what you pay for, good perfume comes at a price and most of us have learned that to our cost.
The Lancome Poeme is just perfection in a bottle and one of my ultimate favourites in the Lancome range but I have recently come across the Lancome ... ...the designs are stunning and Lancome have excelled themselves with the bottle design for Hypnose. The thick glass bottle has a hint of a lavender hue and that colour is deeper at the bottom of the bottle and then lightens towards the top of the bottle. The four sided bottle is twisted in the middle to give it a very unusual and unique appearance that looks really classic and extravagant. The chunky glass stopper is also slightly off skew to fit in ...

LANCOME HYPNOSE EAU DE PARFUM SPRAY 50ML.
My boyfriend bought me this perfume for Christmas last year and I have just got down to the last dregs of my bottle.
This is a very unusual perfume, it has tones of vanilla in, but at the same time is quite strong, so if you don't like strong perfume then you wont like this one.
I would say that this perfume is more for evening wear, when your out on the town with the girls.
The perfume itself I love, ... ...have tried many of the Lancome fragrances over the years, but this is by far the best perfume they have done so far.
The staying power of the fragrance is great, I could still smell the perfume on me the morning after I had been out, so that's a big bonus.
I can't wait for the body products to come out, they are expensive but its my birthday soon so the boyfriend can pamper me with the matching body lotion and shower gel.

...result of my mother getting lancome freebies when she bought her face powder. She gave me the 5ml tester bottle of hypnose to see if I could open it and once I did I fell in love with the scent.
My boyfriend bought me the 30ml edp for Christmas this year and every time I wore it people commented how lovely it smelled.
It reminds me of sugar candy, if you can picture a fresh candy cane that you get at christmas, or a stick of rock. Before you get ... ...lasts all day in my experience although on first spray it can be overpowering... It only takes a couple of sprays one or two just behind your ears and one across both wrists. The spray function on the bottle is good as it doesn't leak or overspray - it dispenses ample perfume to last say... 5 hours. I find when I go into the lecture theatre at college my friend comes in and says "I could smell you before I saw you!" and everybody comments on how ...

I have been using Lancome Hypnose perfume spray for about 2 years now. I was given this perfume as a gift from my other half, at last he had found a perfume he likes. I have been looking for a perfume that he says does not make him feel sick. what can I say? This is a man who likes Estee Lauder Youth Dew!!!? Anyway, it was a relief to open the present and find that it was a Lancome product (he's half way there if he chooses Lancome!)

It always comes in lovely packaging, usually in a gift box with body lotion or cream. The box it comes in is too good to throw away, I have accumulated three pretty boxes now. Well i opened my christmas presents this year and got my bottle of Hypnose for the 3rd year on the trot...... which is good because I LOVE this perfume. Its a nice gentle musky fragrance that can be (and is) worn everyday. The smell lasts a while but not all day, but also its not one of them perfumes that you spray and the person in the next sreet can smell it, more of a ''hint of fragrance'' kind of perfume its also not very strong 'butn the hairs ... ...get me wrong though, the smell is really nice. I will also say that the bottle looks really nice too so all in all it is a very appealing perfume. would definately reccomend.
