I bought the Dell Vostro 1000 for starting a Degree last september. The Vostro 1000 is marketed at businesses and as such is installed with Windows Vista Business. The laptop came with 2GB of RAM which is ample to run vista comfortably. The fact that the laptop is marketed for businesses has made no difference to me. The eee series is very beautiful if your looking for a easy to use small portable laptop this is the one, the only downside is the linux based system but I now have Xp up and running it cost me an extra 50.00 but is well worth it, this was originally made for kids to encourage homework studies but has not been adopted by the older generation.
