...just the best buy and Dell are known to be a respectable no frills brand which helped. It's worth noting that my Dell came with a lot of bundled software, slowing it down slightly. It was a litttle trouble to format a new laptop and install the drivers again, but the machine has been satisfactory ever since! It was okay though, just double check if you plan to use linux (you're better off going for a linux-ready dell). I own this Dell Latitude D830 it is a very fast, very reliable piece of equipment. It has dual core so its pretty good for gaming also with a very good video card. I wouldn't recommend it for the highest newest games but its very good to get you playing some of the recent games. It runs all sorts of O.S. so thats a plus. Compatible with most software. I have had this laptop for three years now and I have had real fun with it. It has been all around the UK, and it has worked perfectly every time. I write this review on this very laptop and i'm not going to beat about the bush its great. I bought this laptop on ebay a couple of months ago, i'm a student didn't have alot of money and wanted something to help me organise my essays and allowed me to work away from the desk (if your not a student you can still appreciate that sitting at a computer crouched on your desk is rather irksome after a while) and sitting in the garden in the sunshine ...
