Review of Acer Aspire 3692WLMi - Celeron M 420 - 15.4" TFT by
alexjwalker12
Advantages: 1gb Ram, Silver look
Disadvantages: weak casing, low battery life
I bought this laptop from comet mid november and it is one of the best pieces of equipment i have bought. Even though the casing is quite weak, the look is fantastic and the overall speed of the pc is WOW! That 1gb Ram really does boost the speed and was surely a big change from the pc i used last, which only had 256mb ram and 800mhz celeron processor. The Windows XP Media Centre 2005 Operating System is surely worth the money you pay, and is perfect ...

Acer Aspire 2000 centrino
Review of Acer Aspire 2001WLCi - Pentium M 1.4 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
smacdoodle
Advantages: thin, lightweight and fast
Disadvantages: none i can think of
I bouht one of these a week ago and I think this is on of the most ellegent and efficient laptops around today. The aspire uses a 1.4 Ghz P4 M centrino which seems alot faster than my mates 2.6 ghz P4. It has 512 Meg ram included (upgardeable to 4 Gb). The centrino has built in 11b wifi, i have it wirelessly connected throughout the house using ADSL and a wireless router. It runs quietly and the battery seems to last for ever. It has a built in Linux ... ...to click on and manages to boot in 10 secs! The Linux system can be used intead of windows just by switching on with a different button, or you can just switch on normally and windows xp loads up pretty quick. The Linux interface can be used for watching dvd's, burning CD's, listening to music or watching video/pics from your hard drive. Onboard is a 64 meg ATI graphics card which is easily enough for most games i have. The widescreen is beautifully ...

Need a great laptop but within budget?
Review of Acer Aspire 1682WLMi - Pentium M 725 1.6 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
TheReviewKing
Advantages: Great spec for price, reliable.
Disadvantages: Feels flimsy, doesnt have the reputation of other brands.
...easiest way to describe the Acer Aspire 1682 is to simply say, "If you are working o a budget, but want a laptop that can do pretty much everything that a normal, everyday person would need, then this is the one for you. For those of you who want the full technical spec, then ill go into that later. Don't worry, I wont miss you out. Look and Feel
My previous laptop was a bulky piece of kit, and considering it had lasted me for 5 years, it tells ... ...models I decided on the Acer Aspire series and in particular the 1682 WLMi model. The first thing you notice about the laptop is the crystallized screen, and its absolutely stunning clarity. This is a 15.4" WXGA WideScreen colour TFT LCD with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. A widescreen on a laptop? Ideal for those of us who use it whilst traveling for DVD's and it's superb for game play, but it's the general clarity in usage that I enjoy. Whilst browsing ...

Advantages: Reliable, Can be Dragged anywhere, Long life
Disadvantages: Out of date
...on. Acer
*********
Acer is an amazing manufacturer offering laptops of high quality for the minimum amount of cash as well as being known for their laptops having a long life time. In the time that I have had mine I have basically dragged it through dirt, sand and through all conditions literally. Size and Portability
****************************
I found this laptop to be reasonably slim. I remember some of the older laptops when they used be ... ...god that laptops have become more slimmer because the average customer doesn't want to carry something that is extremely chunky under their arm. With this laptop I thought it felt more like I was carrying a slim, light folder which isn't a bother at all.

Oh and make sure you only use a cloth, as fingers do make the screen look messy...
::::SOUND QUALITY::::
Sound quality is nothing special, but is exceptable for the price. There are two stero speakers on this front, and you can control the volume using short cut keys on the key board or by clicking on Volume control once logged in.
Watching a DVD or TV gives pretty decent sound, especially considering ...
