Mobile Excellence
Review of Dell Inspiron 5150 - P4 3.06 GHz - 15" TFT by Gawain_dc

Advantages: Excellent performance, High Quality, Excellent Service
Disadvantages: Not the lightest notebook on the market

...I needed. Having used Dell before for desktop PCs I was pretty happy with both the quality and service offered previously, and was willing to offer my custom to them for my notebook needs. However, like any shopper would be advised to do, I shopped around and compared prices before hand. First stop, Sony - what beautiful Vaio systems they offer these days, lightweight, powerful, attractive to the eye - they offer everything, including an extortionate ...
...speedy. Believe it or not, Dell build a system to your exact requirements, so the moment you confirm your order, they set about building your PC, therefore delivery is a little slower than the boxshifting PC corporations that you seem to find everywhere these days. I received the notebook within 10 days - and also received free double memory and a Lexmark X75 copier/Scanner/Printer for free as part of the deal. All arrived together and excellently ... Dell Inspiron 1300 great Laptop for 1 weeks work
Review of Dell Inspiron 1300 - Celeron M 380 1.6 GHz - 15.4" TFT by wrb1331

Advantages: Hardy machine, durable, good support from dell online also. recommended
Disadvantages: Poor battery, power pin loose, screen loose, both tightened up.

...over a year know, and Dell over all I would recommend as a hardy piece of kit. No wonder they are number one as anyone wanting a realiable and good working machine then you can do no wrong then a dell. Only a few quibbles but mainly down to 3 people using the laptop everyday, the power plug became loose meaning the screen would flicker and charging would be intermittent. The battery is on 29wh very poor 1 hour bad from dell but after all its a budget ... Read review

The Lap Dancer
Review of Dell Inspiron 8500 - P4-M 2.4 GHz - 15.4" TFT by mike_kular

Advantages: Overall features and connectivity
Disadvantages: value

...might not have thought of Dell as being your initial choice for gaming laptops, but well in my view, you should convert after this. On paper, the Inspiron 8500 looks like a bargain, but it's unlikely that first glipses will leave you in awe and wonder. It is grey and blue, there is no match, which puts it in the same league as an executive machine, not a power gaming laptop. All this is quite relative, so the real power is shown on boot up. It ...
...full of nice touches, but dell could have been more generous with the ports. The two USB 2 connectors will be quickly filled with webcams, mp3 players and anything else that you would find glamourous for attention, leaving the perellel and serial ports largely redundant. There is also a firewire, for those of you who do have a glittery iPod. As this is a Centrino laptop 802..11b wifi is provided as standard. Sadly though, there are no mamory card ... Read review

Great price, great support.
Review of Dell Inspiron 8500 - P4-M 2.2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by apposurvey

Advantages: Price, Support, Compatibility
Disadvantages: Less efficient than some more specialized laptops

I first purchased a Dell Laptop in early 2002. At that time Dell was still relatively unknown in my area and I was not sure what I was getting into. However, I was impressed by the customizible nature of the website. It's in-depth enough for a power user to make tweaks, but simple enough for beginning users to navigate successfully. The layout of hardware on the computer is very intuitive. Everything one would expect from a good desktop is present: ...
...high speed internet access, modem for phone line internet or BBS, and straightforward keyboard. 2 USB ports are present, allowing your computer to interface with a host of third party devices. Additional features, such as a DVD/CD writer combo drive are all customizable. The computer is solid and has given me very few problems. When I do have problem, Dell's support is quick to help me. I highly recommend one of these laptops to anybody with beginning ... Read review
