HP Compaq nx7300 - Good for business
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook nx7300 - Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz - 15.4" TFT by ThePsychicBuzzard

Advantages: Great overall build quality, great screen, it's fast enough for you old man
Disadvantages: Not much memory, dull looks aren't going to wow the ladies (never stopped me!)

I've recently been able to test this laptop as my stepdad has received one through his work. It's the first time I have seen an HP/Compaq laptop, but I've used many other brands so I'll be mainly using them as a comparison. At first glance, the laptop has a very ordinary design, but when you pick it up you quickly appreciate the build quality. It is quite light, and yet very sturdy, and feels like it could happily take a few knocks ( lucky as my ...
...the keyboard, it feels great to type on and there is no "give" like my own current laptop ( an Acer Ferrari ). The touchpad feels ok but I've never been a big fan of these, so I think I'd stick to my trusty mouse. One thing I was really impressed with is the screen. Although the resolution isn't great for the 15.4" screen, the brightness was amazing. I was able to use it outside in a field on a bright sunny day wihout hassle. Also while in this ... Read review

good laptop
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook nx7400 - Core Duo T2400 1.83 GHz - 15.4" TFT by jammyjammed

Advantages: fairly fast, portable, good battery
Disadvantages: havent found any yet.

i know this is no where near the best laptop around or anything and im nto going to bore you with the specs, just my own opinions cause you can get the specs by clicking a couple of buttons yourself. so here goes, i have had this laptop for a while and have found it to be very useful at times, it works like a wonder and for its price its not to bad. im quite happy about this laptop, it will run pretty much anything without stumbling over itself. ...
...trouble playing games nor running high end processor programs. very easy to connect almost anything to it, with plenty of usb 2.0's you can connect almost all high speed devices to it with ease. ashamed to say that i did spill water over it once before and a few keys stopped working for a couple of days, but once i had cleaned it out it worked like normal. if you have any questions or anything you would like to know about this laptop, please dont ... Cheep and cheerful
Review of HP 510 - Celeron M 360 1.4 GHz - 15.4" TFT by Dazzlin_uk

Advantages: Cheep laptop, resonable quality
Disadvantages: Spend a little more, get a faster laptop

I have been using this laptop for a couple of months and I think, for the money, this is an exceptional piece of equipment. My couple of gripes are long charging time, the right mouse button feels loose, it now takes a very long time to boot up (it was fine new and I have not added much software) and a very limiting hard drive. Also, this unit comes with 512mb ram but can only be upgraded to a max 1gb and uses special ram chips that need to be ordered ... Read review

My experience with the NX6310
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook nx6310 - Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz - 15" TFT by internet_nobody

Advantages: Screen is brilliant quality.
Disadvantages: RAM is low.

This was bought for me as a company laptop in October 2006. Considering it was at the cheaper end of business laptops at the time it is not bad. Graphics are reasonable, although unsurprisingly no good for gaming. The 512mb of ram isn\'t really enough when trying to manipulate large documents. The effective ram is lower as the inbuilt graphics use some of the memory. The dual core make light work of most simple office task. For anyone looking at ...
...1gb of ram. The screen is crisp and clear, and the brightness levels are easily adjusted via the keyboard. It is very simple to use, and the mousepad is a comfortable distance from the keyboard. The build quality of the laptop is reasonable, although I have found the rubberised mouse buttons are starting to wear down after only a year of use. The casing has stood up to the odd bump into seats on the bus, or being dropped rather heavily in a bag. ... Read review

Dell Inspiron 600m - Masterpiece
Review of Dell Inspiron 600m by ZxPwn

Advantages: possibility of 2 batteries, long battery life, overall good life
Disadvantages: none!

The Dell Inspiron 600m is an amazing laptop, even for just the beginner laptop-user. I've used alot of laptops in my time and this laptop actually stays with me, as it is a good laptop, and can take a beating at any time, if you're worried about it. This laptop is significant but, the hinge on the monitor can, IF PULLED, be easily broken. But, it is an amazing laptop. A amazing laptop is what everybody needs, this is a lot better than most laptops ... Read review
