...nice Notebook buy this one. You can put 2 USB inside and the battery get very very fast charged. And the battery stays for long long time about 2 - 3 hours. Had never heard of the Acer brand before but as the laptop was on special offer in shop and appeared to be a bargain, we gritted our teeth and went ahead. Over the first few weeks after purchase we realised that the laptop has no USB ports or ports for mouse etc so you have to use the touch pad, like it or not. However for a basic, home use laptop for the average user it does what it needs to do! Would not recommend this model for any business use ... Read review

Advantages: Large screen and fast chip
Disadvantages: Noisy and the case gets hot

Brought an acer 1315LM last August for just over £850. Had to send it back for repairs after 11 months as it wouldn't turn on, acer returned it after 3 days stating nothing was wrong! It fixed itself in transit - never had a problem since? The LCD screen is very bright and clear with no blurring, although from time to time it goes a bit darker, something to do with the battery saving I believe. ...Drivers are available on the acer website. While it may of been a XP fault I had lots of crashes when disconnecting from the internet - system just hung. Since I now use a USB wifi key and router I no longer see this problem. While its not supported I did get windows 2000 working on the machine for a period of 3 months with no problems. There are no 2000 drivers but most items plug and played and the parts that didn't the XP drivers worked on. ... Read review

...prices as at the moment Acer are offering resellers a "buy 5 get one free" deal. This means there are some very attractive prices around whilst this offer lasts. The laptop comes packed in two sturdy boxes. The outer box has a manufacturers seal that states "If seal is broken check contents" and a "void" sticker is shown when the seals are removed. My advice would be don't accept it if the seal is broken! You simply do not know what it's history ...
...drive? OK, it's old technology, but it's a fast and easy way to transfer files, disks are cheap and above all to a technician sometimes it's a necessity to flash a BIOS. So go haggle a bargain from your Acer supplier and tell them to throw in some software! ... Read review
