Acer Travel Mate 6592 Mate by name and nature
Review of Acer TravelMate 6592-101G16N - Core 2 Duo T7100 - 15.4" TFT by
andy17898
Advantages: Good for office work, good battery life
Disadvantages: not so great for media
I had the model down from this one, so i cant review it specifically, but this model was purely an upgrade from the predeccessor, and my girlfriend sells this at her work, a well known PC superstore, there is a big interest apparently, and she reckons its brilliant, good value for money, and far superior to the one before.
Plus point is a great battery life, and good for office type work such as word documents, powerpoint presentations, and excel ...

Acer TravelMate 5720
Review of Acer TravelMate 5720-702G25BN - Core 2 Duo T7700 2.4 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
pieceofmind
Advantages: very very good specs
Disadvantages: a bit bulky
...to talk about the company, Acer has been going quite a long time now, but their customer service is only just satisfactory, should this put you off buying it?
NO!
For around £80 you can get a 3 year warranty that is quite frankly supurb. I KNOW A FRIEND WHO HAS HAD HIS REPAIRED FROM SPILLS AND GENERAL LAPTOP DAMGE 6 TIMES!
now on to the laptop...
the 2 gigs of ram are deffinatly sufficient and help to increase the battry life to an acceptable ... ...hard drive to store lots of pages on and also a very good graphics card with 256mb of ram it will get you places with most games... the size of th unit is also satisfactory, but is fairly bulky and heavy...
this is a great computer for mobile gaming or high end proccessing and number crunching, but i very highly reccomend the extra warranty...
all the best ben ...

The Dell Vostro 1000
Review of Dell Vostro 1000 by
Chuckles1987
Advantages: price, durability, look, speed, memory
Disadvantages: N/A
I bought the Dell Vostro 1000 for starting a Degree last september. The Vostro 1000 is marketed at businesses and as such is installed with Windows Vista Business. The laptop came with 2GB of RAM which is ample to run vista comfortably.
The fact that the laptop is marketed for businesses has made no difference to me. In fact it has probably helped me with my degreee as it doesn't come with all the extra unnecessary rubbish that others do (e.g. solitaire, ... ...2007 package, etc.
The Dell Vostro 1000 is amazing quality for money and I would thoroughly recommend it, expecially for anyone on a limited budget. The battery once charged does not last for ages but it is not too bad at all; as with most laptops there is a selction of performance modes which can prolong battery. It Vostro is very resilliant; and has survived a few knocks without any trauma.
I am very happy that I have the Vostro 1000, it is a ...

Value for Money Toshiba
Review of Toshiba Satellite A100-200 - Core Duo T2050 1.6 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
sunweohn
Advantages: durability, reasonable price
Disadvantages: heat if used long hours and noisy fun inside
This notebook is my first notebook I bought it a year ago soon after it was launched in UK. I paid £499 for it. I don't think I should describe the product description in the review so I will only mention my experiences and opinions. In my opnion, the Satellite series is the reasonable priced notebook introduced by Toshiba. I use it daily and its durability is quite good. The keyboard keys are easy to handle and use. The notebooks come together with ... ...classic looks.
When it is used for long hours (like 5 hours or more), it becomes hotter especially near the mouse pad area and the noise of the fun gets louder to reduce the heat inside.
To summarise the pros and cons, it is value for money. Good Luck in your research of notebooks info. ...
