...I would normally not recommend Acer laptops as I have used a few in the past and they often tend to pack up when used extensively unlike a Lenovo or a Sony, but this is one of those laptops that even Acer can use to prove their reliability, as originally bought on a recommendation from a friend and since then at least two other collegues have purchased the same machien and no faults ... Decent Laptop
Review of Acer Extensa 5620-1A1G12Mi - Core 2 Duo T5250 1.5 GHz - 15.4" TFT by wardy-91

Advantages: Decent spec
Disadvantages: Has a few downsides, battery etc.

This is the laptop that i currently own and am on right as we speak. i've had it since christmas time which is when i got it in the sale for around 400 pounds. In my opinion it is a good laptop but it has a few downsides. Firstly, the screen is a very glossy one whch means that yes, it does keep the sun off of it, but it also means that it gets scratched very easily.. ANother problem is the battery, it will last for only around 2 hours when it should ... Read review

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: incredibly slow!

I have had this laptop for just about a year now and am already considering changing. I find it is incredibly slow and it constantly acts as if it has a virus although i have checked and it says it hasnt! programs only work when they want to work. The main issue here is it is constantly trying to update itself which is always slowing it down although there is 1gb of ram I am often warned there is not enough memory to perfrom certain tasks or open ... Need a great laptop but within budget?
Review of Acer Aspire 1682WLMi - Pentium M 725 1.6 GHz - 15.4" TFT by TheReviewKing

Advantages: Great spec for price, reliable.
Disadvantages: Feels flimsy, doesnt have the reputation of other brands.

...easiest way to describe the Acer Aspire 1682 is to simply say, "If you are working o a budget, but want a laptop that can do pretty much everything that a normal, everyday person would need, then this is the one for you. For those of you who want the full technical spec, then ill go into that later. Don't worry, I wont miss you out. Look and Feel My previous laptop was a bulky piece of kit, and considering it had lasted me for 5 years, it tells ...
...models I decided on the Acer Aspire series and in particular the 1682 WLMi model. The first thing you notice about the laptop is the crystallized screen, and its absolutely stunning clarity. This is a 15.4" WXGA WideScreen colour TFT LCD with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. A widescreen on a laptop? Ideal for those of us who use it whilst traveling for DVD's and it's superb for game play, but it's the general clarity in usage that I enjoy. Whilst browsing ... Read review
