Not a great traveller, but a good mate...
Review of Acer TravelMate 7520-402G16Mi - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9 GHz - 17" TFT by readie25

Advantages: Well-presented, feature-packed laptop
Disadvantages: A touch slow for modern gaming

The Acer Travelmate series come generally very well-equipped to be competent laptop computers for the modern age, and the 7520 is no exception. Using the same Turion 64x2 that is quite standard in its Travelmate range, the 7520 is quick to boot; the 2GB of RAM is quite sufficient for multimedia applications such as watching DVDs - well provided for by a very able DVD drive and a very nicely presented, clear screen. As well as this, the product is ...
...for long periods, with a great touchpad. However, the screen is quite easily scratched and the battery life is really rather poor - typically you can expect approximately 80 mins on 'high performance', or longer on the more frugal but less useful 'balanced' and 'power saver' options. A great value laptop, and a very good buy ... Read review

Packed with aspiration!
Review of Acer Aspire 5315-051G12Mi - Celeron M 530 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by oblivion252

Advantages: Looks great, not too expensive, perfect for home/work.
Disadvantages: Not good for games, loose items on laptop, rushed instructional booklet.

This is a laptop that's rating soley depends on what the laptop would be used for; for example, this laptop is not sufficient enough for the latest games, yet it works fine as a work accompanient and indeed, a home workstation: it even performs well as a video/music device. Set up is very fast and the system is very reliable (excusing Vista's slow response times) and has never broken down on me for the year I have owned it. The price is also good ...
...- as I have already mentioned, it's not suitable for gaming. However, there are some downpoints, the keys on the keyboard can sometimes be very loose and the touchpad sometimes unresponsive - the padding on the the side of the screen also can come loose easily. Navigation of folders on the actual system can also be slow. The instruction booklet is not so helpful and seems rushed in certain places. It's also very portable, and has a sufficient hard ... ...I would normally not recommend Acer laptops as I have used a few in the past and they often tend to pack up when used extensively unlike a Lenovo or a Sony, but this is one of those laptops that even Acer can use to prove their reliability, as originally bought on a recommendation from a friend and since then at least two other collegues have purchased the same machien and no faults ... Acer travelmate review
Review of Acer TravelMate 5520G-5A1G12 - Athlon 64 X2 TK-53 - 15.4" TFT by tobykelly11

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: incredibly slow!

I have had this laptop for just about a year now and am already considering changing. I find it is incredibly slow and it constantly acts as if it has a virus although i have checked and it says it hasnt! programs only work when they want to work. The main issue here is it is constantly trying to update itself which is always slowing it down although there is 1gb of ram I am often warned there is not enough memory to perfrom certain tasks or open ...
