A small and handy little tablet with good features
Review of Acer TravelMate C111Tci Tablet PC - Pentium M 1 GHz - 10.4" TFT by
jmr2302
Advantages: Small and light, good features for its size
Disadvantages: Small keyboard and screen
At 10 inches, this is one of the smallest laptops on the market. This has advantages and disadvantages. The main advantage is (for us) that it is a good "coffee table" computer. It is particularly useful as a secondary computer which doesn't take up much room or get in the way, and is perfect for sitting on the sofa doing a bit of work, playing games or surfing while watching TV. It connects easily on our wireless network.
The disadvantage is that ... ...to use, although you do get used to it. The screen size is also a problem from time to time, as the resolution is necessarily worse than a bigger screen would be. And of course it is not as powerful as a bigger computer would be.
The other features are very good for the size, with the usual Windows package. The "tablet" features are very handy, although the handwriting recognition is a bit erratic - it particularly struggles with internet addresses.

Worst Money can buy
Review of Acer TravelMate C300XMI - Pentium M 710 1.4 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
mlokhandwala
Advantages: Combination device
Disadvantages: Very Poor quality
...reflect very poorly on the Acer brand. No support, cheap plastic. The color of the area of the palmrest faded within 2 months of usage.
The device generates so much heat that its impossible to confortably use it on your lap. You can feel the head affecting your muscles in the thigh, eventually making you put the laptop somewhere else.
The weight of the notebook is also too much. I was aware of this problem when I bought it, but didnt realize that ... ...(about 1 year ago) only Acer had a full convertible notebook / tablet PC combo. Toshiba was an option but it had lower specs. I am sure I would have been much happier with the lower specs in comparison the the frustrating experience of using this Acer product. Although I paid about $2000 for this piece, by no means a cheap device.
I have also realized that I am not the only person having these problems. Almost all other users have the same issues.

One book worth a read.
Review of Apple iBook G4 - PPC G4 1 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
Ideate
Advantages: Functionality, Speed, Look
Disadvantages: Minimal
Having not owned an Apple product before, i took a leap of faith into the unknown when i decided to buy this version, now i've had it for over 2years and i am still impressed. Even now it doesn't seem outdated with its slim 14" screen, sleek apple touch keyboard, and white gloss finish. It comes as standard with a 'slot' style loading drive which saves time and potential breakages. The laptop comes with quite a few trick features including colour ... ...hard drive - incase you drop it! The only niggles on this model are the USB port being on the left side which can make apple mice a reach for right handed people and its clunky 'plastic' style click on the track buttons. For the money prepare to be impressed! ...
