Good product
Review of Apple iBook PPC G3 600 MHz - 12.1" TFT by Patty8

Advantages: as always processor
Disadvantages: small screen for graphics

The ibook is a great product but for someone into graphics I believe I want just a bit more] as far as screen size. I have the 12.1" screen size model. As always the ibook processor is untouched by any pc and the graphics card is great for a laptop. I run all the adobe programs and some of the microsoft office programs and macromedia programs, I have had no complaints. As for the details here you go. Built in firewire, ethernet, modem, USB VGA port ...
...alot), built in cd burner and dvd burner, great for long trips. Currently I am running OSX 10.2 and it runs very smooth, I just ordered panther and plan to upgrade as soon as it comes in. Overall I love my ibook and the good definitely out weighs the bad. ... Read review

Wow great for a first mac
Review of Apple iBook PPC G3 500 MHz - 12.1" TFT by Veventhar

Advantages: tough, easy to use, you'll fall in love with it.
Disadvantages: a bit slow by todays standards, small ish harddrive

Warm, inviting and comforting. Thats the initial vibe you\'ll get as you turn this thing on. Even though the specs are not up to modern computing, wont notice too much difference while doing the usual tasks like surfing the internet and checking mail, organising photos etc. The tough white shell protects it from almost anything that you can throw at it (its the same stuff that they make bullet proof glass out of!) Mac makes everything so much easier, ... Read review

Review of Apple iBook PPC G3 600 MHz - 12.1" TFT by domcaz

Advantages: Its a Mac. Its a 2nd generation iBook (ie all 1st gen defects ironed out), good 2nd hand prices, still v.current
Disadvantages: Not a G4 (or G5!), smallish screen, not a huge HD.

...amazing reasons to use an Apple computer. It comes with a host of great Apple software which works seemlessly with the OS. It is stable, easy to use, flexible, secure, difficult to hack, and - best of all, VIRTUALLY IMPERVIOUS TO VIRUSES. Yup, you didn't read that wrong. Viruses hardly affect Macs at all. Windows and OSX are VERY different under the bonnet and the virus writers write viruses for Windows for 2 reasons: 1. There are A LOT of Windows ...
...to get into through security holes. For some reason MS leave many more holes in their software. Beware though, Macs can still transmit those email viruses, they just cant get infected. If you recieve a virus email on your Mac - you are perectly safe, but any Windows users you forwrd it to are NOT. The computer itself is light, only 2.2kg, and small - 11 x 9 inches (there is an older brother with 14.1" screen, 2.7kg, 32 x 26 inches, if you would ... Read review

PowerBook G4: How far can an upgrade go?
Review of Apple PowerBook G4 - PPC G4 500 MHz - 15.2" TFT by HenryHabgood

Advantages: Fast, Thin, Light, Wireless Internet, Bluetooth, DVI and Analog Outputs
Disadvantages: Short battery life, paint sometimes comes off, runs hot after being on for awhile

...a top of the line Apple processor, comparable to a 3 ghz P4 or higher. This gives the computer enough speed to do anything from checking your email to making a short film on your computer with no hassles or waiting around. Everything is done in the blink of an eye. -512 mb DDR SDRAM. This RAM directly assists your processor in opening and storing data. This RAM is considered to be one of the fastest on the market. If you are doing any high-end graphics ...
...want to think about an upgrade to 1028 mb or so. The 512 mb is fine for most daily tasks though. -80 gb hard drive. The 80gb hard drive is big enough to hold any kind of data that you need to keep. Many games and programs only take up .01% of that memory so you will really have more than you will ever need. -CD-RW/DVD-R Drive. Will play and burn cd-r's, cd-rw's, dvd-r's and dvd-rw's. Gives you added storage space and you can play all your music ... Read review
