...so many manufacturers! the apple G4 has a large screen , thin and lightweight. the good thing about it as well is the speed, power and memory on this is very powerful. disadvantage is many PC softwares are not available for mac and always are released later on. mac is more on a professional basis but i feel has enough games and software and programmes to suit everyone. ... Oldie but a goodie
Review of Apple PowerBook G3 - PPC G3 400 MHz - 14.1" TFT by Obsessive_Katy

Advantages: Still up-to-date despite being older, attractive, easy to use
Disadvantages: Bulkier than more modern PowerBooks, still command a fairly high price

...some time. I find Apple easier, more design concious and more user friendly. However, the prices were putting me off (not to mention the fact that those beautiful streamlined new ones are so tempting!) Then I started to look further into it. In fact, further into the past. And I started to think, 'what Apple were producing 3 years ago is still pretty good today'. When I looked at the prices these models were going for I was shocked! Yes, they are ...
...was no way I could get a new PC-style laptop with the same spec. for twice the money. So I started looking around. And what I found was the Lombard. A G3 PowerBook, the one with the 'bronze' (read brown) keyboard. It has all I really need. A CD ROM, an internal modem, 2 USB ports and many more things that I'm still discovering. I find it fast and economical with the power (even with an older battery it lasts for 3 1/2 hours off road) and far better ... Read review

6 steps to whether an iBook is right for you
Review of Apple iBook PPC G3 900 MHz - 14.1" TFT by tektonnic

Advantages: Gorgeous, Lightweight, Ultra-Portable
Disadvantages: Could pack more of a performance punch

...as the option for an Apple Airport card. The modem will allow connection to dialup services, ethernet will connect to you own LAN or cable internet service providing fast internet, or use the Airport card to go wireless and connect in your own wireless network or a wifi hotspot. Weight I'm not sure what the official weight is but relative to other laptops its light, the 12.1" model is really light, its polycarbonate plastic and magnesium, its light. ...
...white and has a light0up apple on the back of the screen. Its a laptop with considerable thought put into how it looks. "Cheeky Seven" Apple Mac OS X Ok, I know I said 6 factors but this is important, its a Apple Mac, an old one, which means windows does not run on it, if you are looking to upgrade from mac-2-mac itll be fine but think carefully about what you use your current laptop for before you buy an Apple iBook if all the software you use ... Advantages: Nice computer.
Disadvantages: Might die anytime.

...just dissapear completely. After calling Apple several times they told me to send the iBook in to be looked at. They found a faulty logic board, replaced it and wiped my iBooks memory in the process. Okay, I lost all my files but my baby was back. After another 2 months the screen started to blink, go off suddenly and just dissapear completely. After calling Apple several times they told me to send the iBook in to be looked at. HP DV6599 Special Edition - Good All Rounder
Review of HP Pavilion Media Center dv6599ea Special Edition Entertainment - Core 2 Duo T7300 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by marcus997

Advantages: Features, size and design
Disadvantages: Not good enough for gaming

...me. As a fan of HP products, I chose from the DV6500 range available at the time. This laptop had every spec I required for both using as a station for university assignments, as well as home use for music, film and gaming. Firstly, the design is eye-catching. I was bored of looking at the generic black or grey and thought the white anti-scratch surface was ideal. The laptop is also quite light and the absense of a locking clip meant there was less ...
...more than my money's worth! HP also frequently offer discounts so it's always worth checking to see what deals are to be had. As well as the remote control that is stored away when not in use, another of my favourite features is the fingerprint reader. When you use the internet on a frequent basis, remembering usernames and passwords can be frustrating. For anyone who hops from website to website, I'd highly recommend this feature. Thankfully I ...
