...an earlier version of the ASUS V6J (the V6V), and it is truly a beautiful thing. It is fast, has a great screen, everything works beautifully. The fan does start up quite quickly after use and can be very hot - this can be an issue if you use your laptop on your lap a lot. My girlfiend has got a a7jc dual core for about a year... in her case the notebook is mostly used in architectural design and heavy vectorial software the reliability of thes machine is just mind blowing .. doing every thing that is expected and doing it well. This is a very good laptop in almost every way. I bought it on the 12th october, 2006, and so have had a bit of time to play about with it. First of all the speed of the laptop. It is a dual core 2GHz processor which admittedly isn't the best around but it is still a very good processor for a laptop and seems to get the job done pretty well. ...and the resolution it can do on the screen that the laptop has, is 1680x1050, which is very high-res for a laptop. Also the graphics card has an HD-Video output port and so if you have and HD-TV you can play HD stuff from yout laptop onto the TV. There is a built in 1.3 megapixel camera which is good as webcams go. Also the camera has a motion detecter, which probably isn't too useful but is still quite cool.
