...i broke a cdr drive, compaq repalced under warrenty, no questions asked. much quieter than other models, battery still going strong. the built in wireless that comes in the lid is stuck on 11mb, so was prob a mistake to include, a pcmcia card would have been better. tons of other options available, all "in stock". I guess we will just be repalcacing with an updated model. we hope HP have not spoiled it with thier badge :) screen is avarage, bios ... Read review

I don't see why everyone elses 700 stinks. Mine is 7 years old and is in the best condition ever. The only problem i've evr had is that it overheats and is slow even with extra RAM. When I bought it was very expensive because it was brand new and it was one of the few laptops available to public. It was $1800.00. my wife has one of these and i use it quite often , this notebook has a sleak look for a low cost system especially as it has a p3 processor the body is a robust look as well as being tough , the keyboard functions are touch sensitive so theres no hard typing , the cd rom can be taken out and replaced with a floppydrive for easy access this system is a good powerfull system ,i use it for studio recording so its ideal for me to use this as it is ...
