I'll have mine for awhile
Review of Compaq Presario 700 - Duron 900 MHz - 14.1" TFT by gerelki

Advantages: good for word processing.
Disadvantages: overheating, slow even with extra RAM

I don't see why everyone elses 700 stinks. Mine is 7 years old and is in the best condition ever. The only problem i've evr had is that it overheats and is slow even with extra RAM. When I bought it was very expensive because it was brand new and it was one of the few laptops available to public. It was $1800.00. It came with extra RAM, a larger Hardrive, and a rewriteable/DVDrom drive. The hinges to the screen have never cracked, or even got ... Read review

It's slim but heavy
Review of Compaq Presario 2800 by Deru

Advantages: Good speed and specs
Disadvantages: Drive swapping fun, plasticy bits

So why did I buy it? OK, this wasn't a purchase. This was a gift from a relative so I can't really say why I bought it, because I didn't. Got to admit it's a pretty good gift from someone I can't remember ever meeting, eh? ;o) If I could afford one, I would have purchased a laptop for all the usual reasons. To be able to do work on the move or out of the house, to have computer that doesn't take up much space that can be packed up easily, just because ...
...a laptop, etc. My main reason would be to be the first one. LOOKS The look of the laptop is quite modern-looking from the front when opened. I think it was released in 2002. It's mostly silver in colour on the outside, with black here and there. The top and bottom of the outer case is silver and the sides, keyboard keys, buttons, around the screen, and the bit where I rest my hands to type are black. The keys are surrounded by silver. See the picture ... Read review

Advantages: the sleak look
Disadvantages: could do with a bigger hard drive

Beyond the highest expectations, a gem
Review of Compaq Evo Notebook N800c - P4-M 1.8 GHz - 15" TFT by jhibbs

Advantages: quality, feel, speed, expandability, screen quality & res.
Disadvantages: it's faster brother...at the price, nothing else

I've had this laptop for over a year, wrote this review on it, and I couldn't do without it.. I speak not as a writer reliant on his laptop, but as a die-hard IT support guy looking at a machine that can multi boot, keep up with the most demanding websites, look good in modern supertrendy laptop design company (if you catch my drift) and have a great reliable built in wireless/bluetooth module in the lid as well as great battery life. All of this ...
...is common to catch these machines at a reduced rate once the business community has done with them). No, it isn't the most compact, smallest, widescreen machine - and if you need super portability, look elsewhere. But if like me you want decent disk space, expansion capability, very high quality feel (the keyboard is one of the best I have felt on any laptop including Sony, the case has such a tactile matt rubberised feel, the built in mice work ... A great laptop for everything!
Review of Compaq Presario 2200 by purple_hedgehog

Advantages: a great computer with lots of sockets for different things, good graphics
Disadvantages: only has two USB 2 ports

My parents bought me this laptop about two and a half years ago as I was about to start University and would need a laptop for doing work and checking emails. It was a bit of an offchance purchase as we were on holiday in Singapore and decided to buy it out there as they were considerably cheaper there than over here at that time, although it was still about £700. It is a great laptop and it offers everything you expect a laptop to offer, including ...
...my second year of University for connecting up to the internet quickly and with minimum fuss. However, it also has a network cable socket if you don't have a wireless network. It is fairly aesthetically pleasing, with a black and silver finish. Because it doesn't have a widescreen as many laptops now do, it is very portable although it is still fairly heavy and so I would not want to carry it on a long journey. I love the size of mine since I struggle ... Read review
