A great, fully featured notebook for home
Review of Dell Inspiron 1520 by droony

Advantages: Huge performance, cool design, big graphics, GOOD screen
Disadvantages: lid catch could be better, doesn't feel prperly closed.

This is a very feature packed notebook for the money, I have owned mine for approx 4 weeks now and I am still amazed at it performance, it's just so quick. The model I bought come with the Core Duo 2 7250, 2GB ram, 8600M GT graphics (256MB dedicated) and 250GB hard drive. Love the different coloured lids you can choose from, I went for the green, which actually suits it as it is not too bright and has a slight rubbery feel to it. If I had to pick ... Read review

A competitive performer in the business market
Review of Dell Latitude D630 by Mac2008

Advantages: Portable performance
Disadvantages: May be difficult in deciding on what spec to have

...this laptop for business purposes, Dell don't even offer this to the home user market. So, its agreed, you are likely to be looking at this for work purposes, so the next question is, what do you need to do on it? When purchasing any asset for the professional environment it is all about cost effectiveness. This is often misconstrude as buy cheap... on the contrary, its about buying the most appropriate device for the job(s) required. For example; ...
...The D630, as with any Dell product, is totally customisable so you can build a high end number crunching unit or have a mobile workstation to provide access to the communication tools that are important to you. The important thng to consider is that this laptop is built for usability, reliability and stability. A Lattitude working in the field
Review of Dell Latitude D830 by 1963sporty

Advantages: easy to use, strong
Disadvantages: could be a little lighter?

...over the years. This Dell is the best value for money by far, easy to use looks the part in presentations without beig flashy or overspeced and has never ever let me down. I might not use a massive amount of functions or carry huge programs but for solving problems and presenting solutions to my clients this is the best I have had and would have no hesitation what so ever in recommending it to anyone working in the Financial Services industry as ... Nice light laptop, very clear screen
Review of Dell Latitude D430 by howletts

Advantages: Light, good battery, fast
Disadvantages: not the cheapest, can be installed with trialware by Dell

...as always you cannot fault dell on the hardware. The screen is a good size, and very sharp, bright and clear. Power seems to last pretty well, sitting on my desk it lasted 6 hours quite happily. It comes with 1GB installed upgradeable to 2GB RAM, which is more than enough for most users. Heavy power users may find this a sturggle, but our users are happy :) We went for the XP version, which I would recommend over Vista for now, as Vista is a bit ...
...802.11g. One thing that Dell tend to do is preload their pc/laptops with lots of freebies, such as free trials of mcafee etc. You can get them to not install this but only if you specify it at the time of ordering. Otherwise be prepared to spend an hour or so uninstalling the stuff you dont want! Overall a good laptop for the money, good service from Dell as well, just remember to ask for XP! ;) ... Dell Vostro 1000
Review of Dell Vostro 1000 by mufc4300

Advantages: Cheap in Price compared to other laptops
Disadvantages: Slightly bulky and heavy in weight

...their prices with the other Dell laptops out on market. I purchased the laptop at £339 with the same spec on the inspiron coming to a total of £529. The machine overall is excellent for the type of work I use it for, as it is very fast and quite simple to use with minimal functions. The downfall is that it is slightly bulky compared to all the other machines and can take up quite a bit of room as it is pretty thick aswell. I have had a few problems ... Read review
