...unique problem on doing so, Dell had corrupt drivers on their website for vista. I tried to contact them...call them...their lines were busy and they never responded to e-mails. Finally for my feed back in one of their surveys, i successfully conveyed the message, as a result after one month proper drivers were uploaded and i finally upgraded to vista. ...drivers frequently in their website, dell made sure you have to do with the age old drivers. So its graphs are too weird...no spec of it in ATI's website, though its the manufacturer. This looks like a business laptop, and yeah is one by performance, its made for Aero so its eye candy for your clients, its ideal for office work (keyboard is nice) but anything other than that (even HD), this laps a waste. I bought with Laptop for work really, and because of the price that I paid £249 (special offer) I was not expecting very much. However I have been pleasantly surprised. I bought the option with open source software in and very little else application wise, as I can install the programmes that I use myself, so if you are capable it is a good option. I found that from receiving the box from the delivery driver to getting the laptop online, it took 7 minutes, that is because I did have a network already set up previously, however if I had not had that I reckon it would only have taken an extra couple of minutes to hook it up. Disadvantages: Portability, Battery Life, Brilliant View Screen and its hinges

Great computer, very happy with it. The screen is just a bit hard to work with. It keeps on making a cracking sound and moves difficultly when ever you touch it. Worst is you cant oil it or anything because all of the hinges and whatever are sealed in for protection. The brilliant view screen is pretty awesome, it just reflects a lot and is impossible to work on with a window behind you. It also attracts a lot of dust. The battery life is also ...

I bought a dell inspiron 1721 laptop about 10 months ago, when we received it would not work so i phoned the support line, it turned out that the 2 hard drives had not been connected in and they sent out these screws to connect them in place. since then the computer kept going to a blue screen and then safe mode, it then has crashed beyond repair and we lost everything on it. It was sent for repair and 2 new hard drives were fitted, within a week ...
...who claimed it was a software problem and i would have to pay £60 to have it sorted. After 2 hours of arguing with them they eventually agreed to have a look at it and it turned out they had to replace both lots of RAM and a complete new mother board.
