Small but perfectly formed!
Review of Asus Eee PC 900 by brittle1906

Advantages: Ultra portable, lightweight
Disadvantages: Small processor and keyboard

Review of Asus Eee PC 900 Laptop computer. As some of my Ciao acquaintances are aware I am currently travelling in the UK with my partner. We are both writers, a long term hobby, which has now become our income as freelancers. A laptop computer has been our trusty companion for some time, however as there are occasions when we both need to be using the machine, we decided to purchase a second laptop to make life a little easier. There is nothing ...
...The laptop we purchased the ASUS Eee PC 900 had the 'What Laptop' magazine gold award, having rated 8 out of a possible 10 in the May 2008 issue test reports section. It was purchased from PC World in Newcastle upon Tyne for £199.99. **The laptop** The Asus Eee PC 900 is classed as a entry level ultra mobile laptop and around the same size of a hard back novel, it most certainly is ultra mobile! It weighs a minuscule 940g and the overall dimensions ... Read review

Acer 7003wsmi
Review of Acer Aspire 7003WSMi - Sempron 3400+ - 17" TFT by kristinaw857

Advantages: Great spec, great looking
Disadvantages: The computer is great but If anything goes wrong acer are useless

I got this laptop as a christmas present from my fiance as i had a packard bell before but then the hard drive went on it. This is quite a big laptop because it is a 17 inch screen so probably best for someone who doesnt carry their laptop around much. It has a built in webcam so good for someone who likes to chat on the internet or even just take pictures. It can take black and white pics, sepia, negative, sketching or of course normal colour pics. ...
...to download films and music and had plenty of memory to do so. The screen is fantastic, it is so clear and bright. It has a full keyboard including number pad at the side which i found excellent. It also has wireless LAN and it is very easy to connect to. This laptop is a perfect replacement for a desktop computer as i would say it does everything that a PC does. I hope my review has been helpful, thank you for taking the time to read it. x Summary: ... Read review

Dell Inspiron 1525
Review of Dell Inspiron 1525 by Jammie1000000

Advantages: Looks good, fairly fast processing speed
Disadvantages: webcam could have done with a bit of work

I like this laptop although I have managed to find a few flaws after only using it for a short period of time. Looks I like the look of it and i have the pink version which just adds to the great looks. It looks very modern and has a good use of colours. A very sleek looking piece of kit. The blue LEDS also contribute to the looks and the touchpad for the media controls are brilliant. The laptop is also pretty bulky, especially with newer ...
...including the Macbook air. Functionality The functions of this laptop are OK. There are a few minor flaws with this laptop. The loading time from startup is pretty fast. The fact that it has 4 USB's is also very useful unlike most of the other laptops within the price range. There is also a wireless network switch to easily switch the wireless on or off at the flick of a switch which is also pretty useful. The processing speed on this laptop ... Read review

HP Pavilion DV2535EA - Good overall, Bad trackpad
Review of HP Pavilion Media Center dv2535ea Entertainment - Core 2 Duo T5450 1.67 GHz - 14.1" TFT by SaeedM

Advantages: Good solid home machine
Disadvantages: Terrible trackpad

I've now had this laptop since mid November 2007 and have found it a good powerful laptop for general home use. This machine is aimed at home users and has a multimedia element and great - fingerprint attracting - design. I chose to go for a 14.1" laptop for its combination of low weight and good screen visibility. It is a lot lighter than my old 17" Packard Bell and even a previous 15.4" Vaio. The battery power is satisfactory and runs for about ...
...on. This goes up if you have the wi-fi switched off and are just using it for word processing. The display is good when looked at head-on. However, looking at it from an angle is something that should definitely be avoided. My only major gripe with it is the trackpad. I actually bought it after having a play around with a dv1xxx series machine and had very high expectations. It is absolutely horrendous and skips everywhere except where you want ... Read review

Mac - my life long dropable friend
Review of Apple MacBook Core Duo 1.83 GHz - 13.3" TFT by jimboy81

Advantages: Exceptionally professional, doesn't slow down, no viruses
Disadvantages: White gets dirty, expensive to upgrade or add to

...There is of course the apple store option if you can find one. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the pure design of it (after the excellent packaging and manual which was clear and concise). The brilliant white casing, the smoothed edges and the rounded corners made me feel that I was now in possession of a very professional machine. For only £699 (approx.) I felt that I had really been cheeky. The setup process is exceptionally ...
...trying to do. The apple website provides more information on precisely what the battery life is. Problems I have encountered are mainly cosmetic. The colour means that it does dirty quite easily and the front has become scratched so I had to buy a case for it. But its design is exceptionally strong as I have dropped it and it didn't even make a dent, (yes I am clumsy!). Hardware wise it comes with 512 MB of Ram which is enough if you're not going ...
