The Sony Vaio a business laptop, not this one. Even thought sony would make a laptop for your home use, shur the business ones were great and good to use at home, but this one goes the other way round its great at home and good for business, though not as portable with a 17" screen so for a business i wouldn't recommend, but still good. Disadvantages: Too much bundled software and it's also quite heavy.

So the laptop had to be sent back to Sony to have the drive replaced, even though they could have sent the drive in the post and we could have done it. I bought the Dell Vostro 1000 for starting a Degree last september. The Vostro 1000 is marketed at businesses and as such is installed with Windows Vista Business. The laptop came with 2GB of RAM which is ample to run vista comfortably. The fact that the laptop is marketed for businesses has made no difference to me.
