Review of ThinkPad 570 PII 333 MHz - 13.3" TFT by djivesp

Advantages: Size, weight, looks, build quality, keyboard
Disadvantages: Built-in speaker

I got this laptop as second hand, with upgraded ram and hard drive (128M, 10Gb), after researching into the laptop market, i was after an ultra-portable laptop that would not break the bank, and this, for 130 off ebay was the best thing i could ever have gotten. To start off with my expectations, i expected to be able to get something really bulky and heavy, which would probably run windows 98 and i might have been tempted to make use of ...
...exceeded all my expectations and left me with a happy pocket! The Pentium II 333 would not really cut it as a multimedia performer, or so i thought, but again, i was surprised just how capable this portable is! Basically, being a student and wanting to carry the thing with me everyday, this is ideal, weighing in at 1.8 kilos without the base, i can word process, write emails, i have it on a broadband internet connection which lets me stream radio ... Advantages: weight, price, features for the money
Disadvantages: fairly basic spec these days.

i purchased a refurbished ibm x20 about sixth months ago from a 2nd hand IT retailer . screen 12.1" 1024x768 tft cpu , p3-600 ram - variable , 128-320mb hdd- 20gb graphics - 4mb ati chip 2x usb 1 1x pcmcia port 1x compact flash port wieght . 1.4kg Review: i bought the laptop primarily because i wanted a vaery light laptop and this one provided the best spec for the money. Mine had 320mb ram, and i have installed windows XP pro on it which ...
...of the cpu. The battery life is surprsingly good, (given the battery was not new) and i get between 2 and 3 hrs on it depending on settings and what programs i am running. the machine is so light you hardly notice it in your bag, the screen is great and offers a nice 1024x768 which is perfect for the sie of the screen (12.1 inches) and the hdd at 20gb is very generous for the age of the laptop. only a couple of gripes., There is no driver for ... IBM Thinkpad 240X
Review of ThinkPad 240X 2609 - PIII 500 MHz - 10.4" TFT by Fraggy

Advantages: Small size, ease of use, light weight
Disadvantages: Startup time

When I first got the notebook I could not believe the sheer size of it. It is only 26cm wide, 20cm in diameter and 2.7cm in height and also it only weighs 1.5kg. The dimensions and the size makes this notebook a great tool for people on the constant move that need to have a portable computer with them at all times. The notebook comes with a Pentium III Mobile Processor which runs at 500MHz and also it is equipped with no less than 192Mb of RAM and ...
...enough for the laptop to run smoothly, it is designed for Windows 98 and 2000 Professional but I am running Windows XP Professional SP1 with no problems. From using the notebook myself I have come to see that having such a small notebook has its advantages. You can set it up anywhere and also if you have a full battery it will last you a good few hours. And if you want to connect to the net you can use the PCMCIA port to add a wireless LAN card ... IBM Thinkpad X30 Pentium 3 1.2 ghz USED.
Review of ThinkPad X30 2672 - PIII-M 1.2 GHz - 12.1" TFT by safariman72

Advantages: Small, light and well spec'd
Disadvantages: Replacement parts prices.

I originally bought my Thinkpad as a starter for my partner as she reckoned they are easier to use. My reason was that it was small enough to put out of the way if she never used it. I bought it off E-Bay and apart from a small amount of worry with the screen getting damaged in transit paid £200 plus postage. It arrived well packaged and undamaged and to my surprise looking very good for an older model laptop. HARD DRIVE It came pre-installed ...
...and booted up quickly and very quietly. The 40gb hard disk is quite ample as it gives you plenty of space to install whatever anti-virus you require and enough space for applications for the average user. At the moment on this one I have a few of my favourite cds, some games, office 2007 and Photoshop 8, yet still have 20gb hard disk space free. THE BATTERY The battery holds a full charge and lasts for about 105 - 120 minutes depending on what ... Read review
