Although we all had the same computer (and presumably batteries) only some of us managed to avail the recall even though the battery problem was more or less identical. There are similar problems with the chargers which are prone to failure or breakage. I personally know of at least four users including myself who have had to buy new chargers ...

Of all the laptops I have tried, time and again I have found that I am most happy with an IBM thinkpad. This thinkpad is the newer version that I have owned - I have owned two. My favourite part of the Thinkpad is, funnily enough, the mouse. I haven't been comfortable with touchpads, and the thinkpad has a little protrusion/button in the middle of the keyboard, and you just push it in the direction that you want the mouse to move! Disadvantages: No Bluetooth, all USB behinde, it used to work a bit warm than intel processors

But asus support is just waste of time, as I'm waiting for them just 6 months, only to come to my place, collect my laptop and fix a simple overheating problem (just dust inside) and a mini-PCI wireless adapter replacement which is not working very well anymore.
