size doesnt always matter
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro U300-148 - Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66 GHz - 13.3" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: size, looks, portability
Disadvantages: ram
...and just shows how serious Toshiba actually are about the designs of their laptops.
The built in ram in this laptop is ok, its not really anything special but it will do for most. It has just 1gb of ram, however which can make it seem sluggish when trying to run demanding software which takes quite a while to load, and when trying to play the newest games, this laptop really didn’t respond all that well either.
However a solution may be to ... ...do, it is a solution to the slow speed problems and if you choose to do so, you will be able to upgrade the laptop to a maximum of 4 gb of ram, which would really improve the laptops speed dramatically.
Its nice however to see this laptop with quite a big hard drive. I would first think, if a laptop only had 1 gb of ram, that it would only have an 80 gb hard drive. However it doesn’t, it actually has 120 gb hard drive which is something you’d ...

A Whopper, but Worth it
Review of Toshiba Satellite U300 by
Truelyana
Advantages: The speed, reliability, screen, and usability
Disadvantages: The price
...is the 13.3 " | Toshiba TruBriteŽ WXGA TFT High Brightness display. The display screen quality is fantastic, because of the vividness of its picture quality and images. Weight is 1.9Kg, and isn't in fact that bad. I think it's just a matter of getting used to it. The laptop comes with an integrated 1.3 MP Webcam and microphone. The Webcam software is so easy to use, as it slides on the left screen everytime you start up the laptop.
Nothing lags ... ...features are those provided by Toshiba itself, like the DVD player and DVD Movie Maker. Oh yeah, without forgetting the Norton Internet Security, as additional security. It contains Wireless=WLAN WiFi 802.11 a/b/g and Bluetooth capabilities, and has three major usb ports handy, alongside two ethernet cable sockets.
It's a very useful laptop, for those on the move because of it's light features and it's weight. ...

HP Laptop - Good Notebook for small businesses
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook 6715s - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
dickmaister
Advantages: quick, value for money
Disadvantages: not the best looking, no special add ons (no built in webcam etc.)
I was given this laptop a few days ago...with Windows vista. I have had experience with vista so it was not that hard to get used to. However this was vista business so it did not come with the windows games which you are used to. With a dual core 1.9Ghz processor, this machine is quick...ideal for all your business needs. For personal use it is also great for games such as Football Manager 2008 and so good it can cope with games such as the Sims. ... ...as Inkball is such a great game. It can play DVDs with built in Intervid dvd watching Kingdom of Heaven on it just today. I recommend this for small businesses and for those who do not mind losing out to minesweeper solitaire hearts and the likes. Great Battery time...not the best looking but good value for money ...

For those of you that are not aware of the term 'tablet PC'. It refers to a laptop where you can turn the screen and place it flat on the keyboard with the screen face-up. This turns it into a type of notebook that you can use to write on by using the specially supplied stylus pen. Users of a PDA will be familiar with a stylus. You can use it in this mode to surf ...

A Serious waste of energy.
Review of Gateway M6824 by
demonbarak
Advantages: Well specced
Disadvantages: wrong OS for machine, poor layout
Ok, So, I needed a cheap laptop to do while my computer was being reworked. And what a mistake this one turned out to be!
Its slow, unreliable, difficult to type on.... but let me explain.
I paid over three hundred pounds for this machine. And in all honesty, thirty would have been overpaying.
Features wise its not too bad - wireless, decent quality screen, good keyboard action.
Unfortunately, this is more than offset by the little niggles. Vista ... ...cope absolutely fine with XP, but Vista hogs so much of its meagre gig of memory that nothing runs fullspeed. Its not compatable with so many of the programs and games I know and love... the list of niggles with vista is endless.
The layout - Oh dear god, but whoever designed this machine clearly did not use their brain! You physically cannot type without knocking the mousepad, which flips you out of the program you're typing into and causes havoc. ...
