Cracking ultra-portable laptop for under a grand
Review of Samsung Q45 LXD T7100 - Core 2 Duo T7100 1.8 GHz - 12.1" TFT by sadoldbag

Advantages: Fast, great spec, looks good, light
Disadvantages: None so far (only had it a week though)

...It is the second Samsung I've had and I love the layout of the keyboard etc - so much better than Dell, which are a bit functional (though good value for money). It's quite small which makes it light and easy to port about, and the screen is big enough, though obviously if you want a bigger screen there are loads out there larger. I expect the smallish screen improves the battery life. The actutal viewing on the screen is good though - it is one ... Read review

Long review for well built laptop
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook 6710b - Core 2 Duo T7300 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by hauran

Advantages: very good ergonomy and good display
Disadvantages: loud cooler

...BASIC DESCRIPTION ------------------------------------------------- HP Compaq 6710b has got traditionall conservative design. Characteristic is black and dark grey color and square shape. Design is simple without specialities and extravagancies. Somebody can call this design as a square black boxes, but some people like this design much more than the futuristic new models of a competition. The chasi is exemplary well manufactured. Cover of display ...
...side (as is usual for HP i think) is not power connector, but there are LAN, VGA output, TV out as a S-Video. On the right side are from the rear analog modem, optics mechanic and two USB ports. These USB are better on the back side because when I connect something to the right i got a problem because on the right i usually have external mouse. Up from the USB ports is a card reader for SD, MMC, MS/Pro, XD and card inside always overreaches. On ... Read review

Sony Vaio VGN-FZ38M Blu-ray Laptop
Review of Sony Vaio FZ38 by dazzmandoo

Advantages: Blu-ray, Fast Processor, Massive RAM
Disadvantages: Standard Screen Size Could Have Been Bigger, Battery Life

...aftercare service I received from Sony I had almost gauranteed myself I would never by a Vaio again. But whilst searching for a relatively cheap laptop (sub £850) I noticed that all the other laptops seemed to be really basic set laptops, either the compromised on RAM or the processor, so when I found this laptop on CCLONLINE.COM for less that £805 including VAT then I put my Sony bashing aside and went for what I believe is the best value laptop ...
...very sceptical of buying another Sony Vaio, and I do still have my fears that this one will go the same was as the FE11M, but I am glad I did not let my prejudices stop me from buying a fantastic laptop that is more than capable of doing everything I want it to and then some. OTHER DETAILS: Battery Life: The battery life is a reported 2 hours, which is not fantastic, but I presume you would be able to purchase a heavy duty battery if necessary, ... Read review

A great, fully featured notebook for home
Review of Dell Inspiron 1520 by droony

Advantages: Huge performance, cool design, big graphics, GOOD screen
Disadvantages: lid catch could be better, doesn't feel prperly closed.

This is a very feature packed notebook for the money, I have owned mine for approx 4 weeks now and I am still amazed at it performance, it's just so quick. The model I bought come with the Core Duo 2 7250, 2GB ram, 8600M GT graphics (256MB dedicated) and 250GB hard drive. Love the different coloured lids you can choose from, I went for the green, which actually suits it as it is not too bright and has a slight rubbery feel to it. If I had to pick ... Read review
