A Lifebook to make Life Easier
Review of Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook T4210 - Core Duo T2500 2 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
Odysseus4
Advantages: Really small and easy to transport
Disadvantages: Gets a little hot plus finding a smaller enough case not easy!
...following are the specs:
Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook T4120 Intel T2400 @ 1.83Ghz Core Duo
512mb Memory
12.1" LCD Display
CD/DVD Re-writer
Running Windows XP Pro Tablet PC Version The main selling point for us (OK well for him) was the compact size and relatively light weight. The machine is fast and silent but does get rather hot if used for long periods - which means I need to get a lap tray for my husband's knees! Battery life (in the real world) ... ...what makes this laptop different from others on the market is that the screen rotates and folds down over the keyboard turning the conventional laptop into a pen activated tablet PC in either landscape or portrait format. The pen works well and the handwriting recognition is surprisingly accurate although the downside of using the laptop in tablet mode is the greasy hand marks left on the screen. We've probably bought more screen cleaner than ever ...

Fujitsu T3010
Review of Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook T3010 - Pentium M 1.4 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
playera13
Advantages: Light, Powerful Tablet
Disadvantages: No Utilities
A lovely notebook to look at aesthetically. Hasn't failed on me after 2 years. The good side is that it's really light and is convenient to bring from place to place. It is very responsive as a tablet and can be used for taking notes and presentations. The downside is that the sound card is quite terrible. The graphics card is not impressive either. The battery life tends to dwindle down after 1 year as does most laptops. The biggest con i find is ...

Fantastic Device
Review of Fujitsu Siemens Stylistic ST5020 - Pentium M 733 1.1 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
abdrewawolfe
Advantages: Battery life, versatility, full functioning PC in a superb form factor
Disadvantages: Seriously consider the manufacturers keyboard
A Tablet PC is basically a laptop without the keyboard. Devices like this are also referred to as "Slate mode" - they are just a single slab with a large screen. It runs Windows XP Tablet edition, has a Centrino 1.1 processor and a 60GB hard disk. A full computer, running a full Operating system for the size of an hardback daybook.
The 5020 has a 12.1 inch screen that you write on with the supplied stylus. Unlike a little PDA, your finger nail won't ... ...is a far more accurate and precise system than PDAs use resulting in higher quality screen capture.
There are two USB ports, an IEEE1394 port (for which almost nothing exists), IrDA, SD and Memory Stick slots as well as a PCMCIA slot and a SmartCard slot. There are also two other large Infra Red ports propretary to the device. In addition to this is: wired networking, wireless networking, bluetooth and a modem. Some of the other models have a finger ...

Reassuringly expensive?
Review of Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook P1610 - Core Solo U1400 1.2 GHz - 8.9" TFT - with port replicator by
esluggage
Advantages: Small and light weight, with reasonable power.
Disadvantages: Expensive.
This is a small piece of kit, and is therefore quite expensive. If size is not important, then for goodness sake buy something bigger and an awful lot cheaper. However, I need to carry this in my arms all day everyday, and the small size and weight makes this very easy. The screen is nice and bright, and even in direct sunlight is easily viewed - at the right angle. The battery life is not bad, with the standard battery lasting around 2.5 hours with ... ...for the larger battery you can get about 5 hours. There are 2 usb ports, and a vga out allowing you to add a keyboard, mouse and monitor for when you need to be stationary and need that more stable feel, as the keyboard is understandably a bit small for regular use. The main problem I encountered was that the bluetooth did not work out of the box and I had to download and install the drivers for that myself. The other problem I have with this unit ...

T4010
Review of Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook T4010 - Pentium M 745 1.8 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
mudmank
Advantages: light, good battery
Disadvantages: graphics
the lifebook is a good student tool if you the most you will do is work and light gaming, but if you are a kick back gamer then the lifebook will not please you. 1.8Ghz and 512mb struggles a bit.
1.8 Ghz (gigahertz, what speed of computers is measured in, fastest is around 3.2) is ok for a laptop but their isnt much to compare with as as soon as you get the product in your house they will have something faster on the shelves.
512 MB (megabytes) ... ...gamers. most games do run on it.
the lifebook comes with a 4 year (collect and return) manufacturer gurantee which is good, just in case, they will pick it up and drop it off, but it still needs insurance because this warranty covers flaws not damage.
. switching it from notebook to tablet is not a problem, and there is not much lag or delay when doing so, just swivel the screen and click down, i have heard some people say that the hinge feels ...
