Excellent value netbook

Advantages: Small and lightweight with good screen and keyboard size
Disadvantages: 3-cell battery only lasts 2 hours so buy one with a 6-cell battery

I bought the MSI Wind U100 in October 2008 whilst on holiday in the US for just $380 and it is one of the best purchases I have made in the last year. I have used it every day since then and have had no problems at all with it. It is extremely portable due to its small size and low weight and does everything I need it to. The only bad thing I can think of about my netbook is that it has a 3-cell battery that only lasts 2 hours. It is definitely worth paying more to get one with a 6-cell battery and this is the only upgrade I might make in the future. With all netbooks such as this one you ...

However i was pleasantly surprised that the prices have dropped and the specs improved massively. The model I picked up was £230 at argos, and impressed me greatly in terms of it's specs, which are as follows: Atom processor (1.6ghz dual core), 1GB of ram ...
...whole. Great size, great appearance, great specs, and for the price, i'm astonished at what I could get! I really recommend the MSI wind U90 to anyone looking to buy a portable computer. It's also available in Black, white and pink variants so should cater for most audiences! Excellent product. ...

...of Intel's Atom processor. Instead Dell has opted for the Atom Z520 version in our review sample, which is clocked at 1.33MHz (there is a version powered by the 1.60GHz Z530). The Z520 has a TDP (Thermal Design Power) of just 2 Watts compared to the 2.5W of the N270, which would perhaps give the Mini 10 an edge over its rivals, but unfortunately Dell has given it a 3-cell battery instead of a 6-cell unit as standard. A 6-cell is available for an ...
...9.0 but without Microsoft Word. Dell insists that netbooks are only being used for email and web browsing but many of its competitors actually understand what people are doing with their netbooks in the real world, with many of the second generation netbooks recently released including full or trial versions of Microsoft Office or Star Office. After two netbook releases you'd think Dell might have a better inkling of how these products are used. ...
