Cf-18, Panasonic are making my life better!!
Review of Panasonic Toughbook 18 Touchscreen PC version - Pentium M 900 MHz - 10.4" TFT by
Matttheboy
Advantages: Tablet style flip screen, built in functionality
Disadvantages: ???
...years of working with the Panasonic CF-34 as an IT consultant with manual workers from another company I finally got to produce a build and play with some Cf-18's. There are many obvious advantages this machine has over it's predecessor, namely the available built in functionality (all at a price of course) plus the ease of use for those with the larger finger.
Options include integrated GPRS / GSM slot, WiFi & Bluetooth. Previously you would have ... ...is also good now as Panasonic have incorporated Centrino technology which utilises the Pentium M 900Mhz CPU which consumes the least power of the range of processors, giving a significant increase in battery life, we can now almost get a full days use out of these things (7 hours).
Durtability has also been much better than it's predecessor, they don't feel as strong on the outside as the 34 but Panasonic have realised the amount of hard disks that ...

TOUGH......Yes it is
Review of Panasonic Toughbook CF-18 by
cadetspy
Advantages: Very tough and durable, fast, looks good, touch screen
Disadvantages: expensive, small screen keyboard and mouse area, no inbuilt CD/DVD
Panasonic Toughbook .. as the name suggests it is tough really. I bought mine second hand and I can say I am happy with this transaction. In simple words Panasonic Toughbook is a laptop computer which I must say is made for extreme conditions.
As everyone knows speed of computers really depends on their specifications my toughbook cf-18 has 1.1Ghz processor and it is Intel centrino dual core which is one of the latest technology
It has 1.5GB DDR2 ... ...average nongaming user
Bluetooth,WIFI,GSM/UMTS
Battery life is good on average it gives you 8 - 9 hours
With these specs it is a fast computer but not very fast
Looks of this laptop is just great. It gives the impression of a hard and solid laptop(which it is) it is built neatly professionaly and looks beautiful. The screen however is not so great or in other words not so big it is only 10.4 inches which makes it quite small but it is compensated ...

Panashocker WeakBook
Review of Panasonic Toughbook 71 - PIII 600 MHz - 13.3" TFT by
jholden
Advantages: Looks
Disadvantages: Not tough, poor battery life
...someone has to !). The Panasonic toughbook was meant to be the answer with its ruggedised casing and splashproof keyboard. Well, in my experience the slightest hint of moisture in the air and the whole thing packs up. The screen goes dark and the computer will keep shutting itself off. I will admit that when it works the laptop is nice to use, with pentium4, a smooth mouse pad and nifty black handle that pulls out from the front end of the laptop.
... ...this day and age there are laptops with a 10 hour battery life but this one rarely gives you enough juice to last more than 40 minutes.
The rugged housing is deceptive....some of it looks like it's aluminium but it is in fact plastic. I would not trust the thing to drop it on the ground as I reckon it would smash to pieces.
The dodgy screen is my main worry, however. If the laptop has not been used for a few days or the air is a bit humid or the ...

ruthpern
Advantages: Very robust and sturdy case
Disadvantages: A little slow when compared to newer laptops
The Panasonic CF-28 comes in many flavourers, the CF-28 I use has the following specification.
RAM: 512MB
CPU: Pentium III Mobile 800 MHz
Hard Disk: 512 GB
Operating System: Windows 2000
Weight: 3.6Kg
Physical Characteristics
Left Hand Size
CD and Floppy Disk Drive Module Bay.
Back
Serial Port, Parallel Port, External Video,
Port Replicator, Mic and Headphones sockets,
Single USB port, Keyboard or Mouse PS2 port.
Right Hand Size
... ...PCMCIA Port,
Modem Connector, Network Connector
Underneath
Removable Hard Disk Drive, Battery
These CF-28’s come with the touch screen option install and the touch sensitive glide pad. The normal glide pad works using the electrical charge of the person’s finger and will not work when tried with an inanimate object. The touch screen works in combination with the glide pad or external mouse (if one has been connected), generally the touch screen ...

Dell Inspiron 600m - Masterpiece
Review of Dell Inspiron 600m by
ZxPwn
Advantages: possibility of 2 batteries, long battery life, overall good life
Disadvantages: none!
The Dell Inspiron 600m is an amazing laptop, even for just the beginner laptop-user.
I've used alot of laptops in my time and this laptop actually stays with me, as it is a good laptop, and can take a beating at any time, if you're worried about it. This laptop is significant but, the hinge on the monitor can, IF PULLED, be easily broken. But, it is an amazing laptop. A amazing laptop is what everybody needs, this is a lot better than most laptops ...
