The 2002 ZX6R A1P model with the 636 engine is amazing with excellent power delivery. Servicing costs are very reasonable. I use this on the track and it is fantastic track day tool as well. Some questionable finish to the paintwork on the swingarm though. Many modifications are available from your basic end can upgrade to full system with Dyno jet and K&N filters to increase power. The low screen height is easily solved with the purchase of an after market double bubble screen. An after market undertray tidies up the tail section nicely. Rear suspension can be very harsh over the bumps but can be tweaked for a softer ride or upgraded with a new unit. Headlights are amazing as standard and light up the road ahead beautifully. ...

Advantages: superb looks, excellent engine, comfotable, handles great top allrounder Disadvantages: none
I've owned my ZX6R now for 3 years, and i never get tired of riding it, it's a 1997 f3 model. From the very first moment I rode it i felt at home. It's what I would call user friendly, because of how comfortable it is you can enjoy cruising around feeling relaxed taking in the countryside but on the other hand if you like the thrill of riding like Rossi in a grand prix just open up the throttle and boy this bike kicks.
Not only is this bike comfortable it also handles very well too, i find it takes little effort to make this bike flow around bends as if its on rails.

Advantages: SUPER GOOD LOOKS. Disadvantages: BIT THIRSTY.
Ive owned many 600 superbikes over the last few years but i think that you will have to go a long way to beat the zx6-r j1/j2 models.
i would agree that the kawasaki's are not every ones cup of tea but having grown up riding ar50's then stepping up to ar125's then when i was old enough going up a stage went onto a zzr400 this was a very good comfortable bike but being a 400 lacked power.
thats when i decided to go crazy and go for a 600, there is many models, manafacturers out there and tell you the truth they all looked good, but being a kawasaki man got drawn between a zx6-r or a honda cbr600rr. I chose a Y reg 2001 j1 model with 6500 miles on the clock 1 previous owner (which was a sales executive from a local kawasaki dealers) so its been well looked after. the basic guidelines on prices are for a 1998/2001 model in a1 cond £3500 ...
